It’s that time of year when Vividcon is over and the fabulous vids premiered there become available online. Most of the vidders I know already and can be pretty confident I'm going to like their vid/s but it's also a chance to see new (to me) vidders. I also tend to backtrack and find the vids they've been making the rest of the year while I wasn't paying attention. Or the whole catalog if it's someone I've somehow missed before.

I haven't had a chance to check them all out, some are on imeem, which for some reason won't play sound for me atm, and some are in fandoms I don't know. Also I have to stop downloading, uh, anything, right now, otherwise I'm gonna get us shaped and Dragonfly will be Cranky.

I recced this vidder a short while ago but forgot to mention the page of LotR vids, cos I'm not really into the fandom. I did enjoy You've Got A Friend in Me, a 'lighthearted look at the fellowship of the cast'. I've been faffing around for the last couple of hours downloading new Buffyverse songvids and rewatching the same few favourites I've been watching obsessively between long work shifts for the last few days. Now I'm supposed to be getting ready to go to a party - of people from work, a party at which I expect everybody present to be at least a dozen years younger than me. *headdesk* I should be happy that I was invited, yes?

So, now that I'm supposed to be doing something else, I feel an urge to post. Avoidance, much?

So, about my current shiny. I love BtVS. All of it, even *gasp* season 7!! (Or was it season 6 people were cranky about, I can't remember) I loved AtS for three great seasons, though I did stop watching about the middle of season 4 due to my intense dislike of the Connor/Cordelia arc. I have seen a few season 5 eps, and keep meaning to watch more, hell just for Spike if nothing else.

I don't read in the fandom. I confess to a brief affair with Wesley/Gunn back in the early days, before Fred came along but then, see, Fred came along.

I love canon. Gay, het, UST, whatever. And the Buffyverse is chock full of relationship arcs, or UST that gets resolved. Or doesn't. I don't feel an urge to go out and seek more. I recently came across an amusing Spike/Xander, but I can't believe in the pairing, because we know who they want/love.

(And then Joss did it to us in Firefly with Serenity. I used to happily slash my little heart out, but now I can't, because he's resolved the relationships. It's canon.)

This site has an interesting range of themes and techniques. My favourite is 'The Kids Aren't Alright', a Scooby ensemble piece. I also really like 'Meglomaniac', it's set to an Incubus music video and it's visually very cool.

'Killing In the Name Of' (Faith, Wesley, Angel) and 'All my Life', which is actually Angel/Spike, one of the few pairings I can get behind. because, hello? Watch the vid.

Lured zebra363 over with the promise of Highlander songvids and then forced her to watch three episodes of 'Coupling'. Not a total success, unfortunately, verdict seems to be 'Funny, but the people are unlikeable'. While I was still reeling from that, she added "I especially can't stand the vain one'. Otherwise known as Sally, otherwise known as MY FAVOURITE (my current icon, even)

Meanwhile, 3rd season is on it's way to me via Amazon. Go me.

Quite good Simon/Jayne, mostly from Mal's pov.

Mal/Simon, not usually my fave pairing, I'm a Jayne girl, but THIS FIC is just...guh. Every single sentence, every image, is just completely in character, I felt like I was watching an episode. An episode with Payoff, that is.

Also, and I'm not sure why, some Good Omens fics Not slash. Yes, I did say that. Not even real stories, just scenes. But I liked them. And it's Good Omens, reasonably in character. Go see. Or not.

Just saw my sister off at the airport, made dragonfly come along and drive as I'm a tad sleep deprived..

And I have a double shift tomorrow. Yuck. But Sunday there be Starsky-and-Hutching. Yay.

Quick rec for Firefly fics. 'Oxygen' is my fave (Mal/Jayne) but the 'Things That Haunt Us' series (Mal/Simon) is very cool too.
