The news has been full of the ‘four Russian warships’ sailing down our coast. My housemate was making fun.

Me – You won’t be laughing this time next week when we’re all speaking Russian.
Bunny – I CAN'T LEARN RUSSIAN IN A WEEK.

Been watching Grantchester )

Bunny attempted to put Black-cat down the toilet yesterday. Luckily I got there in time - I felt like I was in one of those slow motion 'Nooooooo' scenes. My cat, while surprisingly forbearing of Bunny lugging her around, earned her reputation for random violence honestly.

Bunny doesn't need any more pet-related scars.

On the subject of the Slashmas party. Great name, btw, whoever came up with it. Seemed like everyone had fun.

Quote of the day, I think it was [livejournal.com profile] scrat saying wistfully, 'Remember the early days of the slash gang, when songvids would be on in the background, now it's kids' shows...' What? They don't like Mary Poppins? There's singing!

Also, we celebrate Jody's birthday on this day too. For about a minute and half, as she doesn't like to be the centre of attention. This year we've had her prezzie since Swancon, when she saw a $200 stuffed dragon at the artshow.

Jody - Oh wow this is amazing. I think I have to get it.
Me - Don't be silly. It's a waste of money.
Jody - But it's beautiful. I really really want it.
Me. Don't waste your money, you've got more important things to spend your money on haven't you?
Jody (reluctantly) I guess...but I really love it.
Me (stern) Jody! You don't need it! Where will you keep it? You don't have that much room.
Jody. *sad*
[livejournal.com profile] emma_in_oz DON'T BE SO MEAN [livejournal.com profile] sarren!
Me *whisper* I'M BUYING IT FOR HER!
[livejournal.com profile] emma_in_oz oops.

Yes cos I randomly go around being mean to my friends.

So, we surprise Jody with this big silver wrapped prezzie. Jody looks amazed and pleased, there's an air of expectation, of tension...

Bunny *gleeful* IT'S A DRAGON.

Me *facepalm*

Bloody emails are invisible again, will ask [livejournal.com profile] scrat to see if she can fix it when she comes over to dinner on Wednesday.

Still with the racking cough thing, got it last Sunday, woke up Monday morning with no voice. Unless you count squeaking. Jodes, who'd stayed over and woken me running into my room with [livejournal.com profile] dragonfly8's phone going off said 'so you'll be calling in sick then.' I laughed/croaked at her a lot. Firstly it's Monday and I can't ever take Mondays off as it's stocktake night (unless of course David Bowie is involved) and secondly, hello? Australia Day. Not a chance in hell of finding someone to cover. Worked Tues morning but my assistant covered the rest of the shift and I was too sick to go to my Body Jam class

Boring myself now talking about work.

Hey, I know, why don't I ramble on about 'Enterprise' )

They say identifying yourself as klutzy makes it somehow self-fulfilling and I guess I can't argue with that since I can't remember a time when I wasn't regularly covered in bruises.

However for many years now I make the effort not to be so, where once I would have banged my head continually into the open door of the cups/glasses cupboard, now I mostly remember to close it, and have a reflexive duck and swerve manouver for when it's been left open.

Now let me mention silver_b_a's foot. Ack! Maybe I have Munchausen-by-Proxy. I *tried* to do a good thing the other day. Dragged her and Jodes off to RotK. Then ran over her foot. How?

How do these things happen to me and not to other people? (well, except for those brave enough to be my friends?)

Am I spacially-challenged? Or something?

So now I want to change my lj to cool b/w like Speranza's but am afraid I will come across as a sad little stalker fangirl. Really I'm not. Well, the fangirl part's accurate. Possibly also the sad part too. But not the stalky bit. I've only sent her feedback twice. Recently. And okay I got all excited when she wrote me back. I have to admit that. There were witnesses. But its *Speranza*. Right?

But I could harp on about Blood Magic by GatewayGirl again instead. *Three* people converted since last week. Okay, Trille and Jodes I had to physically pour them into my extremely creaky computer chair with Explorer opened to the first chapter, but it counts.

*cackles evilly*

soon they will all be in my power...

I have a secret shame that I can no longer bear in silence...

Tonight we watched 'Crossroads'.

*sob*

Yes. The Britney Spears movie.

*wail*

In my defence I was flicking channels to find something dull, and enervating Preferably with no vampires, screaming or staking. Cos, Bunny? Way to fascinated with the Buffy ep on in the background while I was feeding her spaghetti.

Expecting Bunny to be asleep within 20 minutes. 3/4 of girly road movie later she finally drops.

And still we watched, to the bitter end. Or rather, the uplifting/corny/wholesome/Britney end.

*cower*

And I didn't not like it.
