Grantchester! Russian warships!

sarrenThe news has been full of the ‘four Russian warships’ sailing down our coast. My housemate was making fun.
Me – You won’t be laughing this time next week when we’re all speaking Russian.
Bunny – I CAN'T LEARN RUSSIAN IN A WEEK.
Grantchester is a murder mystery show set in a quiet English village in the early 1950s. Despite Lewis being the fandom of my heart I am not really into old school British murder mystery shows. Got it for Jody, watched the first ep, was unsure. Did like the easy partnership that formed between the posh vicar and the working class police inspector - first name basis and backgammon games in the pub on their first case. Subsequent eps have sold me on it though, their BFF relationship forged through love of crime solving and overindulging in alcohol is lovely – by the fifth ep they’re sloshed, hanging off each other’s necks declaring 'I LOVE THIS MAN'. Also Sidney's curate is adorable and gay.

Jody – Look how slashy they are!
Me – They are NOT slashy. Sidney is pining over that girl who’s marrying someone else and Geordie is married with children.
Jody – They’ve gone to London on a date!
Me – Sidney’s just introducing Geordie to jazz is all.
Jody – They are sharing a room!
Me – IN SINGLE BEDS.
Jody - *pointed staring*
Me – NOT slashy, omg.
