Fandom 5k exchange letter

I've tried to give you lots of scope, but if you find you can't work with them, or if you have another brilliant idea that excites you to write, then don't feel locked in to my prompts. I really believe the most important thing about these fic exchanges is writing a story that you're enthusiastic about and have fun writing.
Just briefly with the likes/dislikes - I love character driven stories that focus on relationships (either ships or devoted friendships), add as much or as little plot as you like. Please, please, NO character death, rape, partner betrayal etc. I don't mind angst, as long as there's a happy ending. I am all about THE HAPPY.

Fandomy stuff
Feb. 15th, 2018 07:59 pmMissed last Friday night’s check in – was watching Black Sails. Kid was out Friday and Saturday nights, so we got a bunch of eps in. Snuck in another couple when she was safely out of the way the last few days (showering etc), then pushed our luck too far last night. Her boyfriend was over (V Day) and they were hanging out in the next room with the doors shut, so I started a new ep, which promptly opened with a naked threesome going at it, and even as I was reaching for the remote to turn off the dvd (with the dodgy battery), Bunny burst into the room. I sort of yelped and hit the TV’s power off button. I know, I know, there are worse things on heaven and earth. *cough* Yes I let her watch Hannibal. *sigh*

On writing – I wrestled my Chocolate Box fic into submission and also wrote a couple of treats that I had fun with. Also wrote a longer fic for another small fandom exchange, and both of those have opened, yay.
For Chocolate Box I got TWO awesome Hogan’s Heroes fics, yay!!!
I have signed up for hetswap, but it’s only a small exchange, maybe 35 people, and while I love watching het pairings on TV, I rarely carry that investment over into reading/writing fic. So I only requested and volunteered to write in the same four fandoms... only to have no one share my enthusiasm. I got an email from the mods asking me to nominate another fandom I’d be willing to write in or they’d have to delete my sign up and I wasn’t going to bother since even if I match, someone will still have to write a pinch hit for my, but I looked through the prompts and found one I could do so I’ve nominated that one. *shrug* If I match, fine, if not, I’ll just write a treat or two if I feel up to the challenge. Still gobsmacked that no one else wanted Sense8 or Lucifer ☹

Now I'm like, "Can I have ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and extra whipped cream and cherries and nuts and coconut and--and--and a big silver parasol! and a magic wand!--and a big glitter pen!--and a pony?" Because, you know--fuck it, I'm getting old. I want my pony.'
Of course her idea of a rainbow sprinkle fic involves a plot, and angst, and hotness, and omg is written from Teyla's pov.

Also, while I'm talking about fics....
I stayed up til stupid o'clock the other night reading a Hogan's Heroes fic on Fanfiction.net. It's 26 chapters and not quite finished, which is why I'm not officially reccing it. But it's really cool! It's a GEN FIC!!! *gasp* and it's about Klink being redeemed and friendship and it's about things going wrong and them having to pack in and actually escape back to England. And I think the author's done a great job of keeping it in the feel of the show, and the characterisations, though she occasionally over does the exposition.
Also, is there a way to send feedback on fanfiction.net without like, joining up or whatever?

Randomly - Hogan's Heroes
Apr. 26th, 2006 04:03 pmI grew up watching Hogan's Heroes. In my teens I had this elaborately constructed fantasy epic in my head where Hogan and his men get called out to line up in the snow to 'meet' Klink's new 2iC, a war hero who's invalided out and recovering from wounds - who turns out to be Hogan's old lover - they lived together in Paris in the '30's. The lover had gone back to Germany to visit family and got called up and Hogan Never Saw Him Again.
I was a slasher before I knew what slash was.
Also, Hogan's war hero lover? Yeah, that was me. *blushes*
Then I grew up and wrote a Hogan/Klink fic that never saw the light of day.
However, if anyone is interested, here is a GOOD Hogan/Klink fic.
