Great, the occasionally Russian spammers messaging me asking to be friends was freaky enough, now I've actually been friended by a brand new just created Russian journal.
Crrreeeeepy.

I used to be a Rammstein fan, a long time ago. I went to my first Big Day Out, the year they headlined. Haven't really paid much attention for years now. Apparently they're going where no band (that I've ever heard of, anyway) has gone before. "Pussy". WARNING WILL ROBINSON. Yeah, it's just porn. NSFW NSFW NSFW.

I *love* this house in Bayswater I've been watching it for a while now (in case it blinks) and I don't understand why it hasn't sold, great location, too good to be true price - maybe there's a clan lab opposite or something. I think the first piece of advice I received when I started househunting was, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is, followed by an anecdote about how friends of theirs had found this killer deal in er either Bayswater or Bassendean, I always get them mixed up, when they were looking at the house they'd noticed the house opposite had high walls but didn't think anything of it and then just in the course of conversation the estate agent let slip that it was a bikie headquarters!!!

Tonight when I stopped off at the bottle shop on my way home to scab boxes off them, which I have been doing 2-3 times a week for the last month or so, they had actually stockpiled some for me in anticipation. Yay for people being nice!!!

Dragonfly sheared the dog a week or so ago. He looks like a poodle wannabe. Which, worth it just for the amusement factor, but I have no idea how we're going to explain it when the pet rescue person comes around to vet us.

Went to see The Living End at the Metro in Northbridge. I'm surprised they chose such a small venue - either they're less famous than I would have thought, or they're sticking with their punk rock roots.

The first support band were okay, um, The Silence, couldn't really see them under the hair. Then there was Children of something or other *shrug*. I didn't think much of their opening song, and the lead singer's voice needs to mature but they took off after a bit and were pretty awesome. They were playing again at The Rocket Club that night, I wouldn't have minded going, have to keep an eye out for them.

I was knackered by the time they were half way through and started feeling sorry for myself about how I'm clearly too old and decrepit for these things, until I remembered my lack of sleep, 6am start and really long work day and then The Living End came on and were awesome and then they started playing all the stuff I know and love and I forgot all about being tired and wished I was down on the dance floor instead trying to rock out with some random five-foot delicate-looking girl standing right next to my elbow.

My favourite song: Wake Up

(Awesome SGA/SG1 woobie vid to Wake Up I couldn't find a streaming version, scroll down page to get to download.)

White Noise Actually not my one of my faves but I spent the whole night watching Chris Cheney sing and wondering how someone who doesn't look at all like Nathan Fillian could remind me so much of Nathan Fillian, and see he does in this vid too!:

West End Riot

Prisoner of Society

I'm a bit surprised that they didn't play Second Solution

This will undoubtedly never happen again so I'm pretty impressed with my bad self.

Right now I have tickets to THREE concerts. That I am going to.

My Chemical Romance with [livejournal.com profile] akire_yta, Fall Out Boy with [livejournal.com profile] special_trille and The Academy Is.../Cobra Starship with no-one.

The Academy Is.../Cobra Starship is tonight. I am going ALL BY MYSELF.

Because I am a big grownup and can do this. *is proud*

Anyone want to go see The Academy Is... and Cobra Starship at the Amplifer Bar on Friday 3rd August?

(Or the Thursday but that's an all ages event *shudders*

Don't know who they are?

Watch this vid on youtube The lead singer is Gabe Saporta, from Cobra Starship. Gabe, like many people, has kissed Pete Wentz. Also, he has the same birthday as me. The cute longhaired guy is William Beckett from The Academy Is... and the other guy is Travis McCoy from Gym Class Heroes.** They all know each other VERY WELL.

Look! It's the perfect picspam for people still bewildered about why everyone is crazy-slashing Fall Out Boy. After the many, many adorable Pete/Patrick piccies, all the other combinations are represented, and then some 6 degrees pairings, including Pete Wentz kissing Gabe Saporta from Cobra Starship.

Also, I have not started Harry Potter. I'm bad at doing stuff I 'should' do. I have just randomly watched The Tao of Rodney instead, and now I'm cruising around in bandom.

**The woman is Maja Ivarsson from The Sounds. That's all I know about her.

OMG How much does Sufjan Stevens rock???

I stupidly did not take my camera - I had no idea what to expect, it was in the Pabst Theatre and I've been told off so often for taking photos...

Anyway, for future reference, take a camera to Sufjan Stevens concerts - they were ALL dressed as BUTTERFLIES, except Sufjan - who was a bird!

Also, now I can pronounce his name I feel a whole lot cooler. *g*

Am now off to get my hair cut and coloured, buy MAKE UP and SHOES and either a new dress or a more fancy jacket to go with my regular dress - cos Wisconsin gets COLD.
