Went to see The Living End at the Metro in Northbridge. I'm surprised they chose such a small venue - either they're less famous than I would have thought, or they're sticking with their punk rock roots.

The first support band were okay, um, The Silence, couldn't really see them under the hair. Then there was Children of something or other *shrug*. I didn't think much of their opening song, and the lead singer's voice needs to mature but they took off after a bit and were pretty awesome. They were playing again at The Rocket Club that night, I wouldn't have minded going, have to keep an eye out for them.

I was knackered by the time they were half way through and started feeling sorry for myself about how I'm clearly too old and decrepit for these things, until I remembered my lack of sleep, 6am start and really long work day and then The Living End came on and were awesome and then they started playing all the stuff I know and love and I forgot all about being tired and wished I was down on the dance floor instead trying to rock out with some random five-foot delicate-looking girl standing right next to my elbow.

My favourite song: Wake Up

(Awesome SGA/SG1 woobie vid to Wake Up I couldn't find a streaming version, scroll down page to get to download.)

White Noise Actually not my one of my faves but I spent the whole night watching Chris Cheney sing and wondering how someone who doesn't look at all like Nathan Fillian could remind me so much of Nathan Fillian, and see he does in this vid too!:

West End Riot

Prisoner of Society

I'm a bit surprised that they didn't play Second Solution

So I bought tickets for Harry Connick Jnr for me and [livejournal.com profile] cricketk - and shortly after that she got hit by a car.

Today I went to Karrinyup especially to pick up the tickets - and the ticket printing machine had just broken.

*is paranoid*

The girl said her computer said I could pick up my tickets at the venue from 'gate one' only. Yeah I can just see that going well. I'd end up getting lost in King's Park and ending up sacrificed in a satanic ritual or falling off the escarpment or something.

So I went and got them from Warwick, and then escaped, only having bought $5 pink-spotted thongs and $3 green Converse knock-off sneakers for Bunny from Best & Less.

Which weren't anywhere as pretty as the $80 Sketchers I drooled over in Betts Kids in Karrinyup. Seriously, $80 for kid's sneakers??? Even if they are silver and sparkly and embroidered. *sighs enviously*

My crappy Monday, but then there was Sarah )

On Tuesday I had a stupid headache and couldn't go to Bodyjam and felt sorry for myself and made [livejournal.com profile] dragonfly8 fuss over me.

On Wednesday I bought myself fluffy rainbow boots to keep my ankles warm, though they bear a passing resemblance to Ugg boots, they're really not.

I do realise this has put my friendship with [livejournal.com profile] scotsnow in jeopardy. It wasn't a decision I made lightly....
