One of the writers of CoE is polite as he asks people to stop abusing him.

As soon as I work out how to comment on the blog (if that's even possible any more) I'm going to tell him that I think it was some of the best sci-fi television I've ever seen.

Wow, Mel Gibson really is on the crazy end of the crazy scale, isn't he.

(don't read the comments underneath, there's too much wtf on that page already)

The only time I remember I'm on Facebook is when someone friends me.

TWICE this week I've had completely strangers friend me, I can only assume, because we have the same first name. WTF, people with weird first names unite?

Um, I'm not very good at being in The Dark Knight fandom. All I want to do is read nice little gen Commissioner Gordon fics but THOSE DAMN SLASHERS GET EVERYWHERE.

Things I have learned about TDK fandom.

1. Batman/Joker is THE pairing of choice, apparently, though I have had to scroll very fast past something that is apparently a 'kinkfic' involving Gordon/Harvey and I can't say anything more if you haven't seen the movie but. ew.

2. WIPs drown everything else out.

3. Not really surprisingly, lots of non-con, sexual violence, other violence.

4. Apparently it's acceptable to header your fic with: I finished this in four hours. Four hours! I'm more used to writing stories in four months. What just happened? How did I do that? I should probably re-read this before posting it. Y'kno what- I don't care. Just read. Suffer through my typos.

Um, no. Bye.

And now I just read a short fic because it had Gordon in it and was well written and I kept hoping he'd get rescued, but no, the Joker carved him up into little pieces and now I have to go curl up in a ball somewhere and whimper for a while.

I have spent my entire adult life avoiding gaming.

Today, Dragonfly and Bunny taught me to play Settlers.

Then we went to the Swancon bbq fundraiser, and hadn't been seated for more than ten minutes when [livejournal.com profile] _bigjobbies_ descended on us with a block game (like Tetris except with actual blocks and three dimensional).

The bbq was lovely, the weather was perfect and the people were, as always, awesome. I even remembered to invite my best mate and her family along.

I've buggered up my knee again chasing small children around. I'm really going to not do exercisey type stuff that puts any kind of stress on it. So, does anybody actually, seriously, swim for exercise? I really want to know how you manage to not give up out of the boredome of it.

Most significantly - I appear to have made all sorts of rash promises about attending gaming events and inviting people over to my house to play.

*panics*

I can't make the lj-cut work. WHY CAN'T I MAKE THE LJ-CUT WORK???

I feel like Charlie from Flowers For Algernon.

Reason for crazy panicking - actually finishing a fic in time for a deadline and not being able to post the freakin thing because I CAN'T LJ-CUT.

wtf?

Got home about 1am this morning - what can I say? This public service crowd I've fallen in with like to party.** Yes, okay, we were playing Eucre. Whatever.

Anyhow, didn't turn on lights, went straight to my room, where both cats were asleep on my bed.

Woke up this morning, there's a uneven trail of blood droplets from the front door to the food bowls, an extra fun spray of blood around there and then bloody paw prints leading into the lounge room.

The cats seem fine and we've checked their mouths and can't see any teeth missing.

**At least I wasn't drunk this time.

No, seriously. I have Milo. I remember licking the spoon as I finally thought to check my flist, an hour after I started reading fanfic... New Fandom obsession, how I love you.

THE SPOON IS GONE.

Ever thought about an Enigma/Fatboy Slim remix?

Why not?

Clearly, it takes an idiot a level of genius that only a few can aspire to.

Either that, or some doofus attempting to record Enigma over a Fatboy Slim tape that's been sitting in the car for a couple of years.

It's weirdly compelling.
