All people with the same name should be friends?

The only time I remember I'm on Facebook is when someone friends me.

TWICE this week I've had completely strangers friend me, I can only assume, because we have the same first name. WTF, people with weird first names unite?

I've had a couple of randoms friend me despite a private profile. I send them a message asking how we know each other and in most cases never hear from them again. It's very weird.

What do the ones who do reply say?

The only ones who reply will say that we met once and talked for 10 minutes at the party of a friend of a friend, leaving me flattered that I'm that memorable but also slightly creeped out (it's mostly guys who do this).

They do usually mention a specific party, which I suppose isn't too weird. Sometimes I remember them and sometimes I don't, which on at least one occasion led to the guy admitting he hadn't actually talked to me, he'd just been in the same room at the time...
