This fic was recced to me and I innocently assumed it was slash and somehow ended up spending a huge amount of time invested in a GEN fic, with PLOT AND STUFF, and only a few cute scenes with John and Rodney, but it hooked me in because it was all Atlantis people devoted to each other and them against the universe! The last part turns into slash, but I actually thought it came out of nowhere and didn't have the same emotional investment as the rest of the fic, and in fact, was entirely superfluous.

I think probably everyone who's into the original Stargate has probably read this already *shrug*

I love this series. It's all character driven and, you know, stuff.

Oh oh oh! It was me that recced this wasn't it?

I'm sorry if I didn't make it clear that it wasn't slash per say... The writer has other stories that are inter-related to the Watergate series - and the slashy overtones (actually it's slash, full stop in some cases) comes through clearly there and because of those stories, I see the Watergate series as slash (pre-slash at the worst).

Probably just as well you didn't, I might not have bothered.

I guess I should go read her slash fics now, huh? *g*
