It's not the actor's fault, but I never really forgave Mitchell for not being the same character they introduced in the first pilot of Being Human - the emo, metrosexual, totally-all-over-George Mitchell, who pretended they were a gay couple for their estate agent and sprawled all over George when watching the telly. *sigh*

Notice how threesomes have become way more common and believable? I credit writers finally writing awesome, strong, fabulous female characters.

OT3s

OT3s where the guys have great chemistry together and are both in love with the same woman, who is torn between them.

Johnny/Sarah/Walt - The Dead Zone

Carter/Alison/Nathan - Eureka

Mac/Caroline/Guy - Green Wing

Vicki/Mike/Henry - Blood Ties

OT3s with other dynamics

Peter/El/Neal - White Collar Okay, Neal and El don't have 'feelings' for each other yet - but has any show ever had a happily married couple so obviously fascinated with, and affectionate towards, someone like, well, *Neal*?

Nick/LaCroix/Janette - Forever Knight Historically they were inseparable for 700 years. Broke up this century though - Nick needed his independence, LaCroix spends the entire time trying to get him back)

Richard/Sharron/Craig - The Champions Inseparable. Psychically linked!

Michell/George/Annie - Being Human. Co-dependence for the win!

Threesomes

Threesomes that are SO OBVIOUS because of major on-screen chemisty (intense interaction that totally rates as flirting between all three characters)

Doctor/Rose/Jack - Dr Who

Parker/Hardison/Eliot - Leverage

DiNozzo/Abby/McGee - NCIS

Duncan/Methos/Amanda - Highlander

Sookie/Bill/Eric - True Blood. Not so much flirting between Bill and Eric as the way Bill reluctantly submits to Eric's authority. OMG SO HOT.

Tim/Lyla/Jason - Friday Night Lights (first two seasons)

Kirk/Spock/Uhura - Star Trek

Threesomes that we can make work for us, because we're fans, dammit!

Chuck/Sarah/Casey - Chuck

Chuck/Sarah/Bryce - Chuck

Xander/Willow/Oz - Buffy

Clark/Lois/Ollie - Smallville

Linda/Ted/Veronica - Better off Ted

Stefan/Elena/Damon - The Vampire Diaries

Rachel/Finn/Jesse - Glee

Castle/Esposito/Ryan - Castle (my first m/m/m)

Sherlock/John/Lestrade

Edited!! as I am reminded of more, yays!!!

I actually think White Collar is a case of "the guy and the woman have great chemistry together and are both in love with the same man, who is torn between them". ;)

Okay, Peter isn't "torn between Elizabeth and Neal" as such, but he certainly does appear torn between his crush on Neal and all the many reasons why it's a bad, bad idea.

I credit writers finally writing awesome, strong, fabulous female characters.

Yeah, absolutely. It's pretty hard to write that kind of love triangle without making the woman a horrible person whose inability to decide between the guys ends up making all three of them miserable. I really liked how Dead Zone handled that.

I really love Elizabeth, too. She's such a sensible, low-drama kind of woman, which there aren't anywhere near enough of on TV.

ZOMG, SO TRUE!!!!!!!

I've only seen first season Dead Zone, but I've read some fabulous OT3 fic. I keep meaning to go back and watch the rest - I hear it went downhill a bit?

I've actually only seen the first season myself, but from what I've heard, it stayed at least that good until season three, after which it took a sharp turn into craptastic-land. I should really get around to watching the second and third seasons one of these days.

Hmmm, I'd add...
Chuck/Sarah/Casey - Chuck (or Chuck/Sarah/Bryce)
Xander/Willow/Oz - Buffy
Sookie/Eric/Bill - True Blood
Clark/Lois/Ollie - Smallville
Linda/Ted/Veronica - Better off Ted
Stefan/Elena/Damon - The Vampire Diaries

...which is just a start. The love triangle can so quickly be shifted to a threesome.

Fanfic can do anything, that's why we love it!! I was going for significant on-screen chemistry between the characters.

Chuck/Sarah/Casey - Chuck (or Chuck/Sarah/Bryce)

Hmm, I've seen probably most of s1 and a few s2 episodes - I've not seen any UST between Sarah and Casey, but trust me I WANT to be shown it. Any particular episodes I should watch? I haven't seen any of the return of Bryce eps yet, are they good?

Xander/Willow/Oz - Buffy

I did not see any chemistry at all between Xander and Oz - I'm very willing to be convinced though! *looks at you expectantly*

Sookie/Eric/Bill - True Blood

OMG HOW DID I FORGET THEM??

Clark/Lois/Ollie - Smallville

Dfly have started and stopped s6 twice. I've really got to get on to that. Is there lots of eyefucking between Clark and Ollie? Please?

Linda/Ted/Veronica - Better off Ted

OOh, I'd LOVE to have at least one threesome with two women. I've only seen s1 so far and didn't see any connection - maybe I didn't notice? Is it more obvious in s2?

Stefan/Elena/Damon - The Vampire Diaries

*headdesk* Obviously I forgot the whole vampire genre. I've only seen the pilot and wasn't inspired to watch more. Does it get better? I'll totally believe you if you say yes, having taken forever to get past the pilots of True Blood and Blood Ties. *IS* there really truly chemistry between the evil brother and Elena? or does he just want there to be?

Though I have copies of them, I still haven't even watched first season of Being Human because of how much I adored the original Mitchell. Still, that magazine cover has me mostly convinced I need to gird myself and take a look at the eps.

Awesome list of OT3s, BTW. The increase of strong female characters certainly doesn't hurt.

Hee, the list is GROWING as people point out fandoms I've forgotten.

God, isn't it wonderful to finally have female characters we can relate to? *sigh*

Being Human - no doubt everyone's told you how fantastic the writing and plot are. I like new Annie too (wasn't invested in the other).
How are you with emotion spoilers?

Emotional spoilers are groovy. Especially since I need something to kickstart me watching the dratted show.

Er...I don't know if it'll kick start you. I found episode 4 to be one of the most distressing episodes of anything EVER. Really hard to watch. I was clutching a cushion and whimpering.

Absolutely BRILLIANT television, though.

What I love about this show is that it *isn't* easy for them, they struggle, they have Bad Shit happen. And sometimes they have a win.

Distressing and brilliant is a definite draw. I'm not so keen on shows where everything is neatly wrapped up at the end of an hour with no messiness involved. Shall definitely move this up on the queue.

Well, they really OT3 it up at the beginning of the second season, but there are moments of it in S1 as well.

I like the chemistry between Neal/Peter, Peter/Elisabeth, Elizabeth/Neal. I think, in their own ways, all those pairing work - they all work differently, but I think that's why I like them so much. In fact, I think Elizabeth is probably MORE sensible about Neal than Peter is - which means any feelings she has for him are less clouded than any feelings Peter has for him. That's fantastic, and so very uncommon, imo - that the woman in the relationship is portrayed as the reasonable, rational, clear-thinking one. It's about time! I'm so sick of "strong women" turning into blobs of idiot goo over some guy who's never worthy.

Oh absolutely, you are totally right about El.

I've read a couple of Peter/Neal where I've thought, yep can totally see it...but it's not what I want. I don't want El betrayed. I don't want El to be fine with her husband having an affair. I want El THERE. On an equal footing. I'd be fine with a relationship where they're all free to have sex with each other without the other one being jealous, but that's hard to pull off.
