I rarely watch tv when I'm by myself - I have the internet - but I could compete for Australia in watching stuff with other people.
Imagine, Me and You
I was a few hours late, arrived about a third the way into this. Married woman falls in love with another woman. Enjoyable enough. There are no bad guys in this film, though general opinion of the people in the room seemed to be that Hec was 'too good for her', which kinda boggled my mind.
Bedrooms and Hallways
One of my favourite films. Has my favourite gay kiss of all time. I had thought it had been supplanted by the one in the Torchwood episode 'Captain Jack', but on rewatching have concluded that no, still the best.
Shock to the System
The second Don Strachey film, even better than the first one. Good plot, and Don and his husband so much in love and, OMG with the flashbacks to his first lover and the hurt/comfort. *dies*
Family and Friends
Probably about the fourth time I've seen this. Still funny. Fairytale where the mafia are snuggly and the pretty gay couple are the Don's right hand men and beloved by all. And so adorably in love.
Little Miss Sunshine
Okay, this was a ringer smuggled in by
psycho_tabby, who informed us that this was hilariously funny. Fell asleep after ten minutes - look, it was midnight - woke up to scene of trauma and screaming, sleepily wondered where the funny was, watched the end which was in fact sort of horrifying and amusing. Should probably watch this again when I'm actually awake.
Then there was setting back of timepieces and six hours sleep and pikelets and then
The Wedding Wars
How had I not heard of this??? Congressman's aide is about to marry the guy's daughter. His gay brother is the wedding planner. Congressman makes speech opposing gay marriage. This doesn't go down well. Total feel-good movie. John Stamos and Sean Maher (Simon from Firefly) make an adorable couple. I love it. Must buy my own copy.
Some German film about a gay soccer team
Entertaining.
Wilby Wonderful
Callum Keith Rennie and Paul Gross in a film together. Yays! Also, lovely, quietly paced film.
Paul and Callum almost make smoking look cool. Oh, who am I kidding, Callum makes anything cool. What? Also, now I NEED FIC.
Then it was time for the actual Gathering and conversation and then I had to leave before
zebra363's birthday celebration to collect Bunny, who ended up with fish and chips and brussel sprouts for dinner alfresco while I drank beer and watched Bunny's dad attempt to get his 'classic' car started.
And now I'm feeling all inspired to watch these half a dozen gay films someone lent me like, a year ago, but Dragonfly has homework to do. As though that's more important. *sniffs*
