"Why are you touching him?"
Apr. 26th, 2004 11:40 am'Starsky and Hutch' Laughed ourselves sick. I don't know how impressed the other 12 people in the cinema were with our cheering and clapping!
I'm looking forward to the 'movie fic' which will (and no doubt already has) emerged.
I could never read the fic from the series, mainly I think because both the show canon and writing styles are both dated now.
Someone lent me some old K/S zines recently. Now, I luurrve K/S. My First Fandom. I couldn't even read these stories line for line now. There was Skim Reading, there was Skipping Entire Stories Due to Overused Storylines.
Not to mention the lack of Payoff. Stories ending with both parties staring in other directions, hideously uncomfortable while Kirk mumbles "I might, possibly, in the forseeable future, if no other alternative presents itself, Be There For You so that you do not die in Pon Farr".

Date: 2004-04-26 05:37 pm (UTC)I haven't read much K/S - it seems kind of sacrilegious! Star Trek TOS is pure as the driven snow. Actually I think the underlying desire could definitely be there, at least on Spock's side, but IMO he is too much of a Vulcan to ever act on it.

Date: 2004-04-28 04:24 pm (UTC)I could explain exactly how wrong you are here, but since I'm seeing you in four days, I'm going wait til I can corner you in person, wave my arms about a lot and explain in excruciating detail WHY.
