kirkspock_recs sometimes has recs for stories only available in zines.

I have a lot of zines, from those dark days before the internet. I try not to think about that time too closely. *covers eyes*

I got thinking about my favourite Kirk/Spock zine - Broken Images. I'd quite like to rec that, so I googled it and found this! http://www.agentwithstyle.com/startrek.htm

And there was a function to search for other stories by the same author. I found two! in a zine called Nome 8! Yay! Except the zine costs $69 AUD!!!!

Who pays this, seriously? Can it really cost that much money to produce each zine? Or is it a business now?

'Starsky and Hutch' Laughed ourselves sick. I don't know how impressed the other 12 people in the cinema were with our cheering and clapping!

I'm looking forward to the 'movie fic' which will (and no doubt already has) emerged.

I could never read the fic from the series, mainly I think because both the show canon and writing styles are both dated now.

Someone lent me some old K/S zines recently. Now, I luurrve K/S. My First Fandom. I couldn't even read these stories line for line now. There was Skim Reading, there was Skipping Entire Stories Due to Overused Storylines.

Not to mention the lack of Payoff. Stories ending with both parties staring in other directions, hideously uncomfortable while Kirk mumbles "I might, possibly, in the forseeable future, if no other alternative presents itself, Be There For You so that you do not die in Pon Farr".
