Good news for, um, me! Only took four days to get a reply...

Hi Sarren,

Although the last 4 episodes were not shown in the US, we will be showing them here in Australia. Unfortunately these episodes have not been scheduled as yet. We will let everyone know through suitable publicity when these episodes will be shown.

Kind Regards

I have just written my first ever letter email to a TV station *facepalm* asking if they plan to show the last four episodes of Eli Stone that weren't aired in the US.

Reaction to cliffhanger the series got AXED on )

A few months ago [livejournal.com profile] japhrimel showed Dragonfly and I the pilot of Eli Stone, but it didn't take, obviously, until a couple of weeks ago when we randomly decided to watch the second episode because I'd agreed to watch *one* episode of something before bed and didn't want to watch anything I was invested in. So much for that.

We have TWO episodes left of Eli Stone *mourns* We were supposed to watch them this arvo before Dragonfly went to work, so that I'd be fixation-free tomorrow and can finally focus on my uni work which, to no one's surprise, I am YET again massively behind on.

Except that [livejournal.com profile] japhrimel came over today and introdused us to Lie to Me and then we had to obsessively watch the other three eps immediately. It's about a consultancy team that get called in to judge whether people are lying based on their tells, body language and facial expressions.

Awesomely, when explaining a 'gestural emblem', 'an unconscious gesture with a specific meaning' to a laymen they show stock footage of famous people doing the gesture. In one ep a character rubbed his face with his middle finger while talking to his best friend, and they were like, now why is he mad at him? And used pictures of politicans demonstrating hostility.

President Obama has just said "Senator McCain has served this country honourably." It amuses me.

And then I got sidetracked for an hour or so watching Obama vids.

Dragonfly and I have been mainlining Eli Stone this last week or so. Jonny Lee Miller* plays a high powered lawyer who develops a brain aneurism and starts having visions that enable him to help people. This show is everything I normally DON'T like in a show.

1 Rich smug people.
2 Legal drama
3 Discussions of theology
4 Scenes that regularly LEAP my embarrassment threshold. (and even cause Dragonfly to make whimpering noises)

And yet, it is just SO. DAMN. GOOD. It is the first show EVER that has consistently held my interest during courtroom scenes. (sorry Boston Legal, I still heart you)

Season 2 opening scene (if you're spoilerphobic mute the first 20 seconds while the voiceover updates us)

If you watch this and aren't intrigued, you have NO SOUL. I'm just sayin'.

*Of Plunkett and MacLeane fame, oh, and okay, he was in some film called Trainspotting.
