Me - My flist is full of the news about SGA being cancelled.
[livejournal.com profile] cricketk *excitedly* Do they all DIE at the end?
Me - There's a telemovie after that.
Cricket - Do they all die at the end of THAT? Because that would be AWESOME.

[livejournal.com profile] cricketk and I are on a ROLL, baby.

Me - Fails to do sit up.

CK - Gets newsprint on her face.

Me - Drops self-inking stamp in lap, automatically clamps legs shut to catch it, now has "COPY" on inside thigh of light-coloured pants for the rest of the day.

CK - Runs mobile phone through the washing machine.

Me - Flashes sparkly bra at yoga class.

*waits for it to be my turn again*

Under the misapprehension that Wednesday's exercising with [livejournal.com profile] cricketk would be, in fact, a gentle stroll, I took the dog for a walk in the morning.

Later

Me *staggering up the last steps of Jacob's Ladder* You said it gets easier every time!!!
Ck *casually stretching* It does get easier every time.
Me IT WASN'T EASIER.
Ck *sanguinely* Maybe it'll be easier next time.
Me *dies*

Then, THEN, I actually got an early night cos of being *dead*, and I dreamt that [livejournal.com profile] doctor_k_ and [livejournal.com profile] strangedave were insisting that I had to wake up an hour early because of the Burning Man get together.

And I woke up an hour early. At 6am. SIX A.M.

Exercising with [livejournal.com profile] zebra363 and/or [livejournal.com profile] cricketk is going to be really good for me, I can already tell. They are both very fitness-orientated and determined people. These are good people to help one get fit. No wandering past random cafes and stopping for a granita with these two!

Today [livejournal.com profile] cricketk introduced me to Jacob's Ladder during our walk. I tried to google for a photo of all 242 stairs but the only decent photo I found was of some random stranger standing at the lookout at the top of the 242 stairs. Pretty view, isn't? You don't really get a good feel for how high it is though, at the top of 242 stairs.

By 3/4 the way up I had to let [livejournal.com profile] cricketk bound ahead while I sort of staggered the rest of the way. Some cute guy sprinted past, explaining kindly that 'it gets easier each time'! Good to know, I have a feeling I'm going to be seeing a lot more of those stairs.

Really enjoyed the walk though, and also feeling pretty good now. Ignore the whinging.

So am I the only one who spent today going 'Ow ow ow'?

Fine.
,,
Poledancing apparently uses all the muscles in your arms and ARMPITS. At least, all the muscles I need to do my job. Unless I'm a freak and other people don't have muscley armpits. *frowns* That makes no sense.

I did slidey/swing around my pole a lot. Also, quite enthusiastically. And they gave us a bit of time to play at the end, after the demo by the expert, which included a lot of upside down manouevers.

Me *rubs sweat off pole*
[livejournal.com profile] cricketk - Upside down!
Me *slideyswing*
K - I want to go upside down.
Me *puts hands lower and kicks out gently, experimentally*
K *fondling own pole* I want to go UPSIDE DOWN!
Me *hands much lower* *attempts to kick up higher*
K *slideyswing* *pout*
Me *speculatively* If I had enough muscles in my arms to hold your weight while you swung up...

...and then it was time to go.

Probably just as well that they never left us unsupervised.

How is it possible that I've worked 52 hours in the last week and still have another double shift tomorrow?

Also, [livejournal.com profile] cricketk made me only have four hours sleep AND made me walk in the rain.

On the plus side, I did get to see the latest two eps of BSG and this week's ep of Atlantis, plus some Numb3rs and sundry songvids. Also she cooked me lunch.

::smooshes Cricket::

i thought I'd feel all techy but given that no actual skillz are required my main feeling is just relief, cos I was getting all antsy being unable to interact with my Ljs.

(in a not at all addiction-like way)

So [livejournal.com profile] special_trille organised a BBQ. She organised the plentiful tasty food, the excellent turnout of fun people, the beautiful sunshiny day, and the duckling massacres she organised the many people who helped cook. I claim exemption on the grounds of Toddler Watch. Which was actually way less nervewracking than usual, in spite of the many toddler attractions of big playground equipment, the Road and THE LAKE. And this was down to Cricket's foresight in bringing along A Small Dog. And then allowing Bunny to haul it around after her for a very long time (at least to the dog).

I want to apologise to all the people i chatted amiably to as I sprawled on our blankie in the warm sunshine. And then horribly abandoned without a word. Sorry. I was blindsided by a nearly incapacitating headache and made Dragonfly take me home straight away. I'm annoyed at myself for basking in the beaut spring sunshine instead of Being Sensible and staying in the shade. Also, apple vodka probably not the most Sensible breakfast drink

Anyhow, YAY Trille!! with her fab organisational skillz.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] scotsnow promised me a Bring it On fic. (Torrence/Missy of course) He is now my favourite person in the world**

**note this position is subject to change at short notice and is only valid when Bunny is either asleep or being a little shit.

So if [livejournal.com profile] zebra363 ever gets tired of doing arcane things to horses' feet and fancies a career change I'm thinking indoor house painting might be the way to go. The colour scheme is fab and the quality of the work very professional looking and she did it ALL HERSELF. I did volunteer to help at the time but Zebra may have taken the unenthusiastic tone of voice to mean that I didn't want to help. I can't imagine why she'd assume that....

Meanwhile Zebra had cooked up a storm, so much so that even arriving two and a half hours late as I did, there was still much yummy stuff left for me.

Was surprised to find myself dragged off to engage in physical activity immediately after by Emma, of all people. Cos she has this petanque set (apparently called Bull by plebs) I get to call it by a spiffy foreign name having been introduced to it first in Mauritius. I got all excited when I first saw the box with the balls in - I thought we were up for a rousing game of Quidditch. Alas. But much fun was had anyway.

Emma did manage to injure herself slightly throwing the ball. But since she had earlier managed to fall off her chair (I missed that, disappointingly) I'm just glad we ended the game when we did.

Then Zebra gave me the grand tour of the property that I'd also missed out on before, at an exhilarating pace that didn't allow for me to watch my step as carefully as I really would have wished. My sneakers may never be the same.

mourns

The horses are as cute as ever, and looking well in their new home. Must take Zebra up on her offer to ride one soon...

Trip home in the dark was challenging. Managed to nearly take out an animal just short of the township. I thought it was a fox by the colouring, but on second thought I maybe it was too big. [livejournal.com profile] cricketk?[livejournal.com profile] special_trille? You were just behind me, did you see what it was?

After 15 minutes of obeying the speedlimit, maybe a bit slower on the curves, and when passing roadtrains, was overtaken by [livejournal.com profile] cricketk which, while it deprived me of my 'Lost Highway' sensation I always get when speeding into pitch darkness, did make the trip more relaxing for me, as it's much easier to follow another car, even when the driver of the other car apparently regards speed limits as guidelines, rather than rules...

20k's over, Cricket?

shakes head Shocked, I tell you.

Anyway, I had a really fun time, thanks for having us over, Zebra!

Emma wrote me haiku!!! I love Emma.

Starsky said: 'Nice legs!'
Hutch wiggled his perfect ass.
They mad violent love.

Hutch said: 'Nice blue eyes!'
Starsky fluttered his lashes.
They fell together.

Surfaces - takes deep breath, looks around

Initial obsessive phase of new obsession finally worn off…

Jodes, earlier tonight "That's what I love about you, Sarren. From one obsession to another."

That's because I mentioned I was finally going to watch the 7th season Buffy tapes she brought around, oh, a couple of weeks ago, this because I caught a few seconds of sexy sexy Faith on Foxtel and realised there was half a season I hadn't seen yet.

Expandbuffyverse rambling )

And now, of course, back to 'Enterprise'.

My sneaky, subtle, diabolical plot to convert all my friends proceeds according to plan. Only tonight mr booboo confessed that SHE"S INTO THE FANDOM. I'm ignoring the fact that she looked really embarrassed as she said the words. The fact that she keeps dropping by to exchange tapes speaks for itself. Cos, you know, she lives so close…

K ran off with season one after I sat on her and talked obsessively at her until she caved (oh wait, no, that was my strategy with mr booboo and silver_b_a) K actually expressed interest at the outset, which saved both time and her being squashed. I only had time to show her three eps before other people arrived for 'Get Real' and socialising was forced upon us.

Zebra's only seen one or two, but I don't forsee her putting up any resistance. I cite Due South to back up my claim.

Silver_b_a, having been forced to endure repeated exposure has cracked, and expressed interest in fic recs.

Sarren does victory dance and falls over the wolf wannabee

http://www.angelfire.com/trek/gigislash/ Also writes Smallville, Firefly, and Stargate, though obviously I haven't got around to reading the other fandoms yet.

http://www.geocities.com/kylielee1000/index.html Also Stargate and Firefly.
