[livejournal.com profile] scotsnow pointed out this site, if you need a refresher course. Now I'm more indecisive than ever.

[Poll #1027287]

I think I'd be Hufflepuff, and proud of it. There's no rule against Hufflepuffs being extroverted and being leaders and going into battle. Hell, the Sorting Hat chose a Hufflepuff Champion. Cedric rocked! And as much as I would like to have chosen Slytherin, cos they've been totally screwed, I'm not particularly cunning and ambitious. I can't remember what other traits JKR didn't like.

Edit: see, I'd talked myself out of thinking I might be Gryffindor, since I don't have the ego you seem to need in order to rate. But then remembered my unhealthy interest in extreme sports, and how many Hufflepuffs have you seen go skydiving?

Yeah, I'm a fence sitter. Wait? Is that a Slytherin trait?

Edit again: Still haven't made a commitment. Clearly I can't be Gryffindor. This could take a while.

Final Edit: Seven hours later, a comment by [livejournal.com profile] zebra363 and an epiphany later...I'm a different person than I used to be. I used to be all about adventure! and fun! and then life happened and now I'm a grown up.

I'm such a total Hufflepuff I couldn't choose anything else, and I reckon the hat wouldn't be on a my head for a second before saying "Hufflepuff!!"

And I'd be proud of it too :)

As an 11 year old, I would have been Ravenclaw, or possibly Hufflepuff.

These days it's a little more complicated:
Too lazy for Hufflepuff, not enough ego or ambition for Gryffindor or Slytherin, and not enough interest in academics for Ravenclaw.

Would probably be Hufflepuff, as they "take the rest".

The online thingy said I'm Gryffindor, but as I'm the one of the least courageous people I know, I just laughed.

I reckon I'm a Hufflepuff, with Ravenclaw aspirations.

I would have thought Ravenclaw, because of all the reading. They said I was Hufflepuff, which is cool, cos I get to have a badger as my symbol :)

I do but I think I would be one of the misfit Gryffindors and everyone would whisper "how did she get sorted here?"

I don't think so. We tend to focus on the 'main' traits, but most people would have traits from two or three house, and in varying degrees. There aren't just four types of people.

And besides, come a battle, you'd totally be not shirking danger while you looked after the kids and the injured.

I'd like to think that I'm clever enough to end up in Ravenclaw, but realistically, I know that I'm not. If I'm completely honest, I suspect that I'd be a squib and not fit in anywhere, but failing that I'd be in Hufflepuff. Don't get me wrong, I like the Hufflepuffs, I just think that I'm not patient or loyal or kind enough to ever really fit in there -- I'd be the cynical and bitter Hufflepuff who sat alone at lunchtime.

If you were a squib, you wouldn't get into Hogwarts. Hufflepuff get 'all the rest' so if you didn't fall into any one category you'd go there.

And Hufflepuffs are nice people and anyway people don't get ostracised and left friendless at Hogw...oh wait. Never mind.

[livejournal.com profile] emma_in_oz would be your friend.

Heck, I'm Gryffindor all the way. Not nice enough to be Hufflepuff, not smart enough to be Ravenclaw, not cunning enough to be Slytheytove, but usually brave and fierce and just a bit egotistical.

I thought I'd be a Ravenclaw, and the test said so too.

I think maybe though the sorting hat would have to debate for a while because maybe I'd get put in Slytherin. And if I'm really honest, I actually think I might like to be in Slytherin, but now I've already filled out the poll and it wont let me change my mind!

Thanks! I don't like the colour that much right now cos I'm using my Mac desktop and therefore Safari, but it rocks in Firefox, which I usually am using.

That's interesting. I have a mac and I usually use Firefox, but I tried it in Safari and it looks exactly the same, as far as I can tell. Apart from the fact that Safari doesn't allow the navigation strip.

When managing colour for my photographs in photoshop I've been trying to work out the whole business of allowing for the differences in peoples' operating systems, browsers and monitors. Its very confusing!

Very interesting poll!

soul search, people, this is not a game

This is such an unlikely instruction coming from you that I laughed and laughed, then quailed a little at the importance of choosing right!

I absolutely would want to be in Gryffindor, but I'm not physically brave enough. People who won't go up in the roof to remove dead rats aren't Gryffindors!

I'm amazed that so many people would prefer Ravenclaw over Gryffindor. I see Ravenclaw as a poor second best, the place for people with brains but not enough courage or motivation to put them to good use. Respectable but not laudable. Obviously others see this differently!

Unfortunately, I think if you don't have physical bravery, none of the other kinds are worth much. Maybe it's a definition issue, but I haven't got it.

I dunno, that made me think of Ron and his fear of spiders - I don't think he would get up in the roof to face them, and the hat chose him.

i'd like to be in ravenclaw, with the smart kids, but would undoubtedly end up in hufflepuff - where the 'nice' kiddies go. and i'm quite content with that.

I put myself down for Ravenclaw, then did the poll and ended up in Ravenclaw there as well. Not surprising when you consider my moniker.

I reckon Ravenclaws have the best of it. I would imagine that they would be the house that gets on best with the other houses. I think that people in Hufflepuff would tend to be looked down on by Slytherins and ignored by Gryffindors. Poor Slytherins - see books 1 through 7, including epilogue - although I think Slytherins and Ravenclaws would have a certain amount of mutual respect. And imagine the eye-rolling that is done when everyone else thinks about Gryffindors.
