I nearly went to work today! It was, um, 9:30 and I was all dressed except for pants (and boots obviously, if I'd got my boots on but not my pants I think that would be a pretty clear indication that I shouldn't be going anywhere except back to bed) But then! Someone from work rang me and talked me OUT of coming in! See how my workplace is made of awesome?

Instead I shall continue my quest to watch at least a few seconds of every single Dr Who vid on youtube. I KNOW. Wish me luck!

I feel that I have failed my flist, and everything I stand for by being completely indifferent to the Doctor/Master relationship and finding the last episode mildly entertaining at most. Martha, however, is fabulous. I think her achievement rivals taking the time vortex into yourself anyday.

I think staying behind to care for her traumatised family, but giving the Doctor a mobile is just the best (voluntary) Companion departure ever. I think they should have given the rest of the speech to Jack. Jack's the one who's loved the Doctor for over a hundred years and has to come to the conclusion that he'll never reciprocate. Having Jack leave because he's 'responsible' is just lame - they have two time machines and he's immortal - I think he has time to hang out for fuck's sake.

Face of Bo = AWESOME

*I keep having conversations with people where I am indignant about Martha being in love with the Doctor. The writers seem unable to comprehend that women function on many emotional levels. Martha can crave an emotional connection with the Doctor that he's unable to provide because of the loss of Rose without her falling in love with him.

**Anyone know who does this version of Don't Fear the Reaper? I really like it.

I felt completely flat after watching The Last of the Time Lords. Like, disappointed. Martha leaving broke my heart because she is fabulous.

Hey how about all the Jesus/Judas-y stuff?

Jack can do no wrong, but I would have loved for him to have a little adventure with the Doctor. (But yeah, the unrequited love is fair enough reason not to, I suppose.)

I have read spoilers about Martha, but will share if you want me to.

1. Do we know for sure that she's ACTUALLY left?

2 I was, as usual, completely oblvious to the religious allegory. i was just unable to empathise with the Doctor's extreme grief for a psychopath responsible for the deaths of millions of people. I was sad that John Simms will be unable to reprise the role though.

3. Jack totally should have had a spin as the companion - just for the Christmas episode.

4. About how Freema is difficult to work with and Tennant hates her and how they are thinking of bringing the lovely Sally Sparrow in as the next companion?

1. see further down

2. Oh, WORD, on being unable to empathise with the Doctor's grief, unless I'm missing something that a more versed Doctor Who fan would pick up on, regarding the bond between Time Lords.

Uhm... ?Lucy picking up the Master's ring at the end... not sure it is the last we see of The Master. (And yay, if it means more manic!John Simms!)

3. AGREED. So... the Titanic. Someone posed the thought that RTD is having a laugh at 'ships. Jack/Rose... (I don't think so, but it's a fun idea.)

4. Sally Sparrow? Really? OOOOH!! Okay, I like that idea very much!

The spoilers I read were that Martha is in 3 eps of Torchwood season 2, and is then returning for all of season 4 (or whatever it is, season 4 of new Who anyway.

I hadn't read the Freema Is Difficult To Work With stuff! *feels disappointed all over again*.

Seen this? John Barrowman at London Pride this weekend. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous.

2 AFAIK, the Doctor and the Master were friends at the Academy, what, 900 years ago? And then the Master went on to destroy world after world and billions of people and the Doctor stopped him a lot. I only ever read one remotely believable slash fic (and I was looking!!!) where the Master had been brainwashed into being evil (or something like that) and the Doctor was able to cure him.

Lucy picking up the ring was actually more clue than we usually get that the Master will be back. Normally he just returns from whatever impenetrable prison or death or however the Doctor has foiled him with NO explanation whatsover. It's his thing *g* I don't see how he could be Simms again though, with the Doctor burning the body.

4 I like Sally too! But I don't want Martha to go, so I hope you are right - the stuff I heard was just rumours on the 'boards' apparently.

5 Your icon makes me very happy, you must always use it forever and ever, okay?
