Got home about 1am this morning - what can I say? This public service crowd I've fallen in with like to party.** Yes, okay, we were playing Eucre. Whatever.

Anyhow, didn't turn on lights, went straight to my room, where both cats were asleep on my bed.

Woke up this morning, there's a uneven trail of blood droplets from the front door to the food bowls, an extra fun spray of blood around there and then bloody paw prints leading into the lounge room.

The cats seem fine and we've checked their mouths and can't see any teeth missing.

**At least I wasn't drunk this time.

I'd check for a burst abscess, just in case.

I think you're right. Sam had a stinky mouth a while back but I looked and looked and couldn't see anything and it went away. But clearly I'm a sucky pet owner because I found blood spray up the side of the cabinet too, so

I'll see if I can get to the vets tomorrow, otherwise I'll leave work early on Monday. Is that soon enough?

Wow, seems like a lot of blood! Sorry, I wasn't clear - I meant cat bite abscess - which are located wherever a cat can possibly be bitten by another cat.

Are both cats still well? Eating/drinking/weeing/pooing normally?

Blood spray up the cabinet? I wonder if this is urine/blood? (Not trying to frighten you, just thinking aloud.)

It was pretty high up, waist height?

Vet's it is.

And yes, Sam is eating normally. I haven't seen Dragonfly's cat eat recently though, I think I'll go check that out now.

How about your doggy? Has he been ruled out as a source of the blood?

He was confined to the other end of the house overnight.

D's cat is eating fine.

Sam seems fine. When I stopped paying her attention she pulled her normal stunt of sitting on my desk and batting everything about and chewing on cords and my watch, and then stopped and stared bemusedly at me cos i wasn't kicking her off like i normally do *g*

Hmm! *strokes beard* This is a mystery!

If you get to the bottom of it, do let me know, because I am incredibly curious.
