Guys, dreamwidth has defeated me. I'm stil around, check in on peep's posts periodically, but whenever I decide to do a catch up post - which tend to cover several topics and there therefore long and require a cut, I just cannot make the cut work - even by copying and pasting the code for the last cut that DID work. I just dunno what setting I've got on it (presumably I've figured it out previously) but I mess around and I mess around. Last night the cross post to LJ didn't cut either, but when I reposted it first into LJ it did work, but then when I copied and pasted it back to DW it didn't. GAH.
I'll try to post short, one topic ones, I guess. ha, like this.

[cut] or [cut text="whatever"] is still working for me fine (with <> obv)

Date: 2019-06-09 11:27 am (UTC)I still use the old [lj-cut text=""] syntax, but on dw, both that and just [cut] without the lj prefix should work, too.
You could probably check it by switching back and forth between the editors and plain text?

Date: 2019-06-16 03:42 pm (UTC)Also, do you post in rich text or html mode? I almost always post in rich text, but when a cut doesn't work for me, I switch to html. I usually find the "open cut" cut tag properly set up between its < >, but the"close cut" /cut isn't there at the end. I then search line by line, and usually find the /cut somewhere in the middle of the post. I take it out, put it where it should be, and then post without going back to rich text. That usually works.
I expect that you've already long since figured it out, but I'm trying to catch up with people, and I ran into this post of yours, and wanted to add any potentially helpful hints in case it's still a problem.
