Yuletide has been so much fun - first time I've been fully involved. The people organising it have been totally awesome and there's just so many outstanding fics, some in fandoms I've never read before, including my this year's favourite. And since part of the fun appears to be posting one's recs before the 'big reveal' obviously I had to organise mine, even though it's 3am and I have a sinking feeling somebody's going to be waking me up at about 7am. *cries*

They're about evenly divided between book fandoms and media fandoms, and MORE THAN HALF ARE NOT SLASH!!!

So my Top Five Favourites...

Below and Beneath - Baroness Orczy, The Scarlet Pimpernel
http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/28/belowand.html
My FAVOURITE yuletide fic this year! It’s like a missing scene set directly after the book ends and it’s just a beautiful scene of Percy and Marguerite caring about each other.

Adeste Fidelis – Georgette Heyer, These Old Shades (Avon/Davenant)
http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/30/adestefidelis.html
I love this plotty fic about how Avon and Hugh meet SO MUCH, I even think I would have preferred it as a GEN FIC *gasp*

Duende - Patrick O’Brien, Master and Commander series (Aubrey/Maturin)
http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/33/duende.html
omg omg omg this fantasy AU rocks SO MUCH.

Yes, Sir, Jeeves – PG Wodehouse, Jeeves and Wooster (Jeeves/Wooster)

Fabulous, fabulous wodehouse, plus some hot sex.

A Heaven in Hell’s Despair – Wiseguy (Vinnie/Sonny)

Laurence and Temeraire are so adorable together.

Death in the Tuileries - Dorothy L Sayers, Lord Peter Wimsey series

Wimsey’s first case! Wimsey first meets Bunter!

Wild Honey - Fried Green Tomatoes (Idgy/Ruth)
http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/32/wildhoney.html
So pretty!

The Bridal Path - Addams Family

I can't remember the Scarlet Pimpernel characters enough to picture the story. I'll come back to it.

Glad you liked Duende!

I'll lend you the book if you like, I know I'm going to go reread it again. God I loved that book when I was a kid, I couldn't count the number of times I read it.

re Duende - well DUH. *g*

Hi, great recs, and wonderful stories. Loved the Jeeves/Wooster, melted at the Brian/Bender, and melted *all over the place* at the Idgie/Ruth.

Is there a femslash community?

Right now, almost all I can think of is Westerns made in the last century, but here's hoping that you get joy out of all your fandoms, and that your 2007 will be fun and relaxed and hopeful. If you're ever in melbourne, I am going to have a study/ guest room in 4 months or so.

I'm just going out on a limb here could I don't know what you actually wrote for yultide, but is this person rec'ing you? Sorry if I'm wrong (but you will get some nice rec's out of it so no harm done) but if one is your story I's sure want to know if it was rec'ed! Happy new year! *hyper Dee who can't sleep cause of evil red bull!*
