I'm a bit bewildered, too. I think it's supposed to be our holiday episode, a la "It's A Wonderful Life", the whole "enjoy your life, you touch more people than you know" kind of thing, but yeah, I missed the team interactions.
I am clearly stupid. *cries* Was he supposed to be going to heaven at the end? What happened to there's nothing after death? Why could everyone see him 'ascending'? Was it the eye that made him manifest at the end? I'M SO CONFUSED.
I saw it as a nice companion piece to the Dr Who episode "Love and Monsters" ie we got to see Torchwood through the p.o.v of an outsider. The music was great too.
That said, it did lack a certain pace.
