feeling apocalyps-ey

Had a sudden urge to watch something apocalypsey earlier, so obviously I thought of Supernatural.

Supernatural is a show which my enthusiasm waxes and wanes. I watched season one quite sporadically, got super keen about season 2, lost interest a few episodes into season 3 and wrote it off and then started again with season 4, have seen maybe the first half dozen. That was a while ago.

Figured I'd check out the HD, see if any Supernatural episodes had mysteriously appeared on it, as they tend to, and discovered that we have randomly acquired 5.4 and 5.5. Checked out the episode guide at tv.com to see if starting at 5.4 was a viable option.



"The End" - Dean refuses Sam's efforts to help him battle the Devil, and then wakes up to find himself five years in the future, in a wasteland where Lucifer has begun his endgame by unleashing a virus that transforms humans into zombies.

AHAHAHA - ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE. I WIN AT LIFE.

I really enjoyed season four, but found season three a little hard-going. If online tv guides are to be believed, channel 10 is bringing back Supernatural next week, after GNW. (They're up to ep 5.7)

Speaking of zombies, I read The Zombie Survival Guide a couple of weeks ago - highly recommended!

I only watched a few eps of s3 and then skipped the rest on advice from teh internetz who were up in arms about Dean being misogynistic or something.

Honestly? I think the misogynistic claims are crap. I watched the entirety of season 3 and there was nothing in there that I construed as misogynistic.

If anything, the show's misogynistic 'cause it kills off all its female characters. However, the characters (Dean) are not misogynistic.
