My Yuletide update

Way back when I was plotting out my Yuletide fic, I wrote 1500 words in another fandom my recipient requested, but I couldn’t make it work and I wasn’t having fun so I abandoned it.

Finally finished my eleventybillion word Yuletide fic of DOOM on Saturday night and sent it off to betas. Word from betas on Sunday night: one storyline not wrapped up satisfactorily – must either totally rewrite last scene, or add another scene. *cries*

So this morning my brain decided it knew how to make the other fic work, and by totally rejigging, and adding another 500 words I have a fic I’m happy with. Yay!

That’s okay. I still have just under 19 hours to do the rewrite and upload the main fic. NO PRESSURE.


Though if the little one gets back from beta in time I can upload *that* first, and that’ll take the pressure off. Actually, I probably don’t even don’t even have to wait, since we now have the option to edit after upload.


Huh, is it really Yuletide without the crazy last minute stressing? Though no doubt when I come to upload I'll manage to screw it up several times and then there will be TEARS.

I'm having a yuletide meltdown because my *canon* went and released something today that completely makes it look like I stole my story idea from that. Today? The day of uploading?

Psst, even if you just write 1000 stream of consciousness and get it uploaded, you can edit it over the next couple of days before the archive opens. I think that's how it works, anyway.

Thanks for the offer (and the massage) but I think I'll have to get through this on my own. I mean 1000 words of porn can't be that difficult to manage, even with only under twelve hours left.

That editing option would be quite the relief indeed, though.

Hee, thanks. The shorter one has been uploaded so the pressure is off - I can upload this anytime before Reveal. I just have a personal deadline - I want to get it finished and uploaded before the Yuletide deadline cos that's when the pinch hits come flooding through, and I want to grab one!

I've got a completely different ending for that scene in mind now. I'm going to write it and see which one I like most. The other one I'll turn into another fic later. Probably

It's almost 3am here and I have been *working* solidly since 11.30pm. Isn't it great to stay up writing fiction instead? *gets up to make you a nice cup of hot, wet coffee - espresso, latte or instant?*
