Thank you for volunteering to write in this fandom - clearly we both have great taste.

I hope I gave you plenty of ideas to play with and inspire you. I've tried to give you lots of scope, but if you find you can't work with them, or if you have another brilliant idea that excites you to write, then don't feel locked in to my prompts. I really believe the most important thing about Yuletide is writing a story that you're enthusiastic about and have fun writing.

Just briefly with the likes/dislikes - I love character driven stories that focus on relationships, add as much or as little plot as you like. Please, please, NO character death, rape, partner betrayal etc. I don't mind angst, as long as there's a happy ending. I am all about TEH HAPPY.

Blood Ties:

RequestDetail1: What I *love* about this show is that it revolves around an awesome, competent, believable female character, and the two male characters never steal her limelight. I love her relationship with Mike, the current conflicted feelings compared to the warmth and ease in the flashbacks to when they were *together*. To be honest, I find Henry a bit bland - my fave scenes are when he gets to show his true nature - like when he drags off the priest and comes back all languid and sated. Mmmm. And then eyefucks Mike ::cough:: I love the way they're both totally into Vicky and have an antagonistic relationship that they are totally able to put aside to help her. And also because I likes teh slash, I like the intense way they react to each other, not to mention the scene where Henry feeds off of Mike. A fic which explores a threesome dynamic (any rating) would make me deliriously happy but any fic that focuses on the relationships as they were being developed in canon would be completely awesome too, whether a case fic, or just some adventure the three get mixed up in.

It probably goes without saying, given my prompt, but please don't pair any two of them off and leave the other one out.


Easy Virtue:
RequestDetail2: As the choices were limited to only Larita, Mr Whittaker or Any, I've specified the 2 characters as I wasn't quite brave enough to select Any. But please don't feel obliged to focus completely on them, or even write them at all if you want to write a story about Furber, or either of the sisters. So, I'd love to find out what happened to some of the characters after the film - did Larita and Whittaker go off and scandalise society on the Continent, or did she go back to race car driving while Whittaker finds peace travelling around with her? Or how about the sisters - a fic about one or both escaping and becoming independent and fulfilled would rock. Or Furber! A story about how Furber pwns everyone! If you'd like an ENTIRELY OPTIONAL more detailed prompt I'd love a fic where Furber goes off and joins Whittaker and Larita and is ostensibly their servant but actually has a more equal relationship/friendship. Can be gen or any pairing combo, including threesome.

I would be happy with gen, het, femslash, slash or threesome with this fandom, given how many characters I've suggested stories about. However, I have a complicated relationship with het - if you decide to write an exclusively het sex scene could you add some kind of edge, mild kink, or taboo aspect (the difference in class/societal disapproval would work if you chose Larita/Furber) It's just, I think I overdosed on Harlequin romances in my teens, and I find regular het romances and regular het sex scenes just...uninteresting. Also, no incest involving Mr Whittaker/any of his children, or John/either sister. To be honest, I'm not really interested in John at all, which is why I didn't name him. If you do want to write him, please only as a minor character in the fic.


Diana Wynne Jones - Power of Three:
RequestDetail3: I've just specified Gair because I figured it was a bit tricky with 7 kids and each of us only being able to specify 4 characters, I didn't want to rule out a match because of the 4 not matching exactly. Although I would definitely be happy to have Gair a central part of the story like in the book, any combination of some or all of the kids will make me very happy. I'd love a fic where the kids have grown up and fulfilled their potential and are allies/friends, but basically any fic revolving around the friendship of the kids would be awesome. For an ENTIRELY OPTIONAL prompt for if you like a lot of detail: I like the idea of Gerald becoming Gair's trusted advisor, maybe even living among the People, at least some of the time.

I was thinking gen fic for this, but if you decide to write them as grown ups, and are inspired to write a pairing and you feel you can achieve this while keeping the tone of the book, that's fine.
