With a view to teaching children about rainbows -

What is the progression in teaching children the concept of light? (what age group should be taught which concepts)

Would a concept (learning) spiral be the best approach?

My only qualification to comment is a high opinion of the quality of my own opinions, but I reckon that if you and the child are both enjoying the experience, then have a go at teaching them anything that you like. I don't think that you can break them by teaching them stuff in the wrong order. Anyway, I don't think we've broken any of ours that way.
