Well, having had time to reflect, I have decided my initial assessment of Demons was overly harsh.
It's like when you somehow end up at fanfiction.net. You don't know why you're still reading that fic because it's clearly written by a 12 year who's self-inserted themselves as the irresistable emerald-eyed love interest, and yet just when you decide you really have to stop there'll be something which encapsulates why you read fanfic in the first place.
There should a tv channel equivalent to fanfiction.net, so that people pretty much know what they're getting themselves into before they accidentally lose several hours of their life they'll never get back watching six episodes in one go.
Here's the Promo.
The premise is there's this demon hunter, sorry, warrior, called Rupert Galvin, played by Philip Glenister with a painfully bad American accent for no reason at all except apparently to make his character not like Gene Hunt. FAIL. This is totally Gene Hunt hunting demons.
He explains to the extremely attractive young LukeSkywalker, who is often pleasingly inadequately clad, that it is his DESTINY to be a demon-hunter, that's why he has Buffy-the-Vampire-Slayer-like superpowers, and it is Rupert Giles's Galvin's job to mentor him... Rupert reveals that Luke's last name is in fact really VAN HELSING *dun dun*
Here we can see Luke wandering around in boxers, oh okay, first meeting with Rupert. Whatever.
Joining them is Rupert's best friend Ruby. She may seem at first like any ordinary non-superpowered teenager, but by episode 3 she's teaching herself how to defuse ticking bombs on the fly from a book she found on the shelf in under 14 minutes instead of say, dragging her unconscious team mate to safety.
The other member of the team, not to be overlooked is Mina Harker. (that was a pun - Mina is blind). If you're any kind of self-respecting fan you know what else Mina is already, although this is a huge revelation to Luke and Ruby in episode 4. Maybe they're too young to have seen the Keanu Reeves' movie.

This is the theme tune - in the first 15 seconds you know you're not going to be taking this show seriously.
The wildly inappropriate music choices continue - this songplays as Ruby flees for her life from a pack of demons.
So, WHY WATCH IT???
Moment of Awesome ...for the occasional scene like this?
It's pretty good going for slashers. For example, oh, the last couple of minutes of the pilot episode. - (start watching at 3:35)
Het, too. In fact, my favourite scene is at 1:07 (for 30 seconds) in this otherwise not good and extremely spoilery obviously Rupert/Ruby songvid. – for a second I WAS that 18 year girl having an intense moment with a powerful and attractive older man. *SO HOT*
So, how can you judge for myself?
LUCKILY, you can watch the first ep ON YOUTUBE
And look, random crossover anyone? I really wanted that soldier to become a Companion.

I'M STILL SULKING.
