When I left Perth last week I was all about Merlin, but that was then and now I'm all about GREEN WING.



Green Wing is a surreal, sometimes hysterically funny comedy. If you like that sort of thing. It has a decent sized ensemble cast which allows for a wide variety of pairings. Let me show you mine...

Alan/Boyce

My OTP, even though they are not as shiny as Mac/Guy. They do have the advantage of being CANON. Alan is a fussy, pedantic, silly little man in an obsessive on again/off again relationship with an older woman. Boyce is a tall handsome (apparently heterosexual) young doctor who constantly winds him up and flirts with him, and on one memorable occasion, buys him at a charity slave auction and sleeps with him, yays! I may possibly have spent the plane ride home writing silly Alan/Boyce porn. *headdesk*

(He was Pippin in Keen Eddie, which I love and adore and really liked him in, but now, NOW, I'm crushing on him big time. Mmm...Julian.)

I am all about the threesome here - Mac and Guy are best friends and mostly inseparable. Guy is an insensitive arse but Mac is basically decent - they both fancy Caroline, and she fancies both of them, so it all works out well. *g*

Inconceivably, no one seems to have thought to upload that!!!

No one else wants to buy Alan of course, because he's unpopular, and Boyce pays 30p and then they go out to dinner (a bit in the songvid of them looking happy and cute), and then they drink a lot.

Also in the songvid you get a quick flash of them first waking up together the next morning and looking freaked - the rest of the scene has Alan continuing to freak out and demand that Boyce get out, while Boyce looks pleased with himself and snuggles down, telling Alan he's naked. Then later in their staff meeting he basically outs them *g*

Have you watched the Boyce songvid - with the snog in the carpark and the bit where Boyce is in a nurse's uniform and pulls Alan around the corner and shoves up against him and their hands come up between their chests so they're holding hands. AWESOME.

I would ask what was going on in that mouth-to-mouth rescuscitation scene (or whatever the hell that was) and the car park snogging, but I think it would be faster to ask if you know if there's a source for the show on LJ. Netflix doesn't have it

Mark HEAP! Is Mark Heap Alan? HE IS! I didn't even realize! He always looked so tall in Spaced, I didn't recognize him here when he looked small compared to the others -- and I guess the whole from arty to conservative change didn't help either. OH MY GOD I LOVE HIM.

... yes, anyway. Sorry, I didn't mean to be unsupportive of the show financially, I was just hoping to check out a few episodes.

Yep, it is indeed the awesome Mark Heap, that's probably why I find the ridiculous character he plays strangely attractive...actually not really..but I can see Boyce talking him into getting rid of the stupid moustache once they get together at least. *g*

Hey, I'm all in favour of try before you buy - and then not buying if you don't love it - I normally only buy boxed sets if I love the show/movie so much I want to see all the extras...of course, as you've probably noticed, I love A LOT of shows. Hee!

He always gets a lot of screen time, he's one of the main characters. I'll pick one where he's being exceptionally tender with Caroline. Ooh, or maybe the one where he finds out his best friend was really mean to their little intern friend and chases him down and forces him to apologise - it's the first time I've seen JRT playing someone angry and forceful. Mmmm.

Alan/Boyce is my OTP and there is a comm, ___greenwing, but there's only about two people writing Alan/Boyce and most of that is me! Can't wait to read yours, it's about time there was new Alan loving Boyce ;)
