Saw Dark Knight!
Jul. 27th, 2008 08:15 amIn the car afterwards...
Me - And could Christian Bale GET any hotter? I don't think so!
special_trille *pause* I could do without the assault charges...
Me *stares at her horrified*
Trille - You didn't know?
Me - NO OMG.
Trille - How could you not know?
Me - I have had my computer turned off for a week.
Trille ....
Me - Tell me.
Trille - I can't.
Me - Tell me.
Trille - It's bad.
Me - Girlfriend?
Trille - Worse.
Me - Kid?
Trille - Mother and sister.
Me *bands head on steering wheel repeatedly*
Trille - There's a possibility it was just verbal assault and all LIES, anyway.
Me *cries*
OMG so glad I got in early before I knew anything about it. For once my crap memory was useful - I knew I should know the name Harvey Dent, but I couldn't remember why, right up until the side of his face caught fire and it hit me!!! So I got to have Harvey be my white knight too and I was just as frightened for his safety as I was everyone else's. OMG, it felt like there was hardly a moment in the film I wasn't terrified somebody I was invested in was going to die horribly.
I don't think there was a single scene that didn't add to the film. Okay, I did kinda drift during the car chase, but that's like a normal reaction for me.
angriest had talked up the Joker's 'magic trick' so that I was dreading some 'kind of faces being melted by acid' scenario - so I ended up being relieved it wasn't worse. *g* Not much consolation for the guy, I guess.
Meanwhile, Eric Roberts continues to be one of the hottest men on the planet. It's hard to believe he's 52. Yes, I am shallow.

Okay, now the movie and some shallow (as is my wont) comments:
OMG JOKER, but even moreso - OMG NURSE JOKER!!!
Batman removing his outfit to reveal the bruises and contusions - great scene to show that he's very mortal.
Nestor Carbonell! (Didn't you used to enjoy him in Suddenly Susan And he was Batmanuel in The Tick)! William Fichtner! And Gary Oldman = hottest Jim Gordon EVER, he was fantastic.
The makeup etc on Joker and 'Two-Face' was brilliant.
I still haven't seen Iron Man - how does the TDK compare, in your opinion?
Also, are you going to see Tropic Thunder? I laughed v. much at the trailer. (Of course I did.)

Date: 2008-07-27 02:46 am (UTC)You don't know me, but FWIW, I *loved* Iron Man. It's very different from TDK, so much so it's really hard for me to compare the two. IM isn't exactly light fare, but it has quite a bit more humor, and is more a story of enlightenment and redemption. The CGI is *amazing*, as are all the lead actors. And RDJ is the hottest he's ever been, if that's any incentive.

Date: 2008-07-28 12:39 am (UTC)I am cross at myself for missing Iron Man at the movies, it looks like such fun! I'll have to catch up with it on DVD. I love RDJ too, he is such a great actor.

Hee!
Re: SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT.
Date: 2008-07-27 03:36 pm (UTC)Ah, Nestor. Third ever fic I wrote (and the only truly mushy one) was Luis/Toddy after Luis taught Toddy to dance. I was like, I'm so glad the Mayor didn't turn out to be corrupt, and Trille, who is more fandom knowledgeable than me said 'You mean he wasn't canonically revealed to be corrupt'. *cries*
Gary Oldman, William Fichtner (I shrieked quietly), Eric Roberts and Christian Bale. All in the same film. AWE-SOME.
You can't compare Iron Man and TDK. Go see Iron Man. FOR REALS. On the big screen, if you still can.
Hmm, I just watched the trailer of Tropic Thunder. This may be one of those films you have to get me drunk to watch. Want to see if you can get us tickets to Wicked sometime early December?
Re: SPOILERS IN THIS COMMENT.
Date: 2008-07-28 12:49 am (UTC)Your Luis/Toddy fic was adorable!
I missed Iron Man *cries*, but the DVD is out in October.
RDJ as an Aussie who becomes African-American is too funny a prospect for me not to see Tropic Thunder.
