I – Iodine Used to be used as an antiseptic until they found something that stung less. If you heat it you get a pretty violet vapour.

At – Astatine Like Francium, it occurs in miniscule quantities in the decay chains of uranium and thorium. Not nice.

Iodine also required for functioning of thyroid gland, which governs your metabolism (among other things)

Ooh, thanks for reminding me. I read that now they add it to salt so no-one in the first world gets goiters anymore!
