It seems like John Barrowman is on every talk show and variety show ever in the UK at the moment, with gigs left right and centre. He's the star of the highest rating show on BBC3 ever, which has just been renewed and moved to BBC2 (is that like a promotion or what?).

And in two weeks he weds his partner Scott, in a small ceremony with only his 'closest friends, family, and the cast of Torchwood' present.

He and Scott have been together for sixteen years.

Sixteen years. I am all melty and awww about this.

So then I read an article in a stupid women's magazine (I was trapped at dance reheasal DON'T JUDGE ME) about how people who've been together for years and years finally get married and then they split up soon after, and how this usually because they get married for the wrong reasons.

And now I'm vaguely stressed at the thought of John and Scott breaking up. Why I am feeling at all invested in this I have no idea.

1) Well, we were together for 13 years before we got married. 5 years later, we show no signs.

2) getting married because marrying your chosen partner has only recently become legal is most emphatically one of the right reasons to get married.

I'm sure all will be well. And what a lovely thing to hear. Melty and awww too.

1 Well you guys are unconvential and cool people anyhow. Also, yay.

2 Yes, it is. I'm sure that's why they are doing and also, that they will be together forever.

I'm just stupidly worried about people I don't even know. Stupid women's magazines.

Yes, it's true, but it's all about your motivation for getting married. Like, people who do it because one partner issues the ultimatum, we either get married or break up, are only prolonging the inevitable. Or, say, getting married *only* because the woman is pregnant, which in JB and his partner's case, I don't think is a factor. ;)

Don't feel stupid because you're worried about someone you don't know. It just proves you have a big heart.

Weren't they talking marriage just after it became legal? I'm sure there's an interview somewhere saying that he and his partner were planning on marrying. Maybe they were just waiting for their schedules to fit.

Oh, and who wouldn't worry about JB? He sings, he dances, he skates, he's the other Captain Jack... it's all good.
