It's about four or five hours to Naples/Everglades from Orlando, so if the trip is 16 hours in duration, that means that the tour itself will only be about 6 - 8 hours of that time. You'll want to know what kind of transport is offered to and from Orlando -- is it a van, a car, a bus, what?

It does sound like a great way to at least get a *taste* of southern Florida without having to 1) spend the night or 2) navigate the Everglades by yourself. Seeing the glades from an airboat would be VERY cool -- I only ever did it by car, and I know you can see a LOT more by boat.

The price sounds reasonable.

I've done a lunch cruise along the Naples' waterways and it's a gorgeous ride -- tons of spectacular houses to look at, but the water views, though spectacular to US, won't be what you get at home.

Confirm with the company, but yes, pretty much everything in Florida is air-conditioned.

If you want to see sheer unadulterated American tourism at its worst best, go to "I-Drive" in Orlando. You will see an incredible cross-section of humanity, many blinking lights, and some of the tackiest crap ever to grace God's green earth.

No, I don't want to see tacky crap, that's why don't want to go to Graceland. *g*

By Touristy stuff! I mean sight seeing, and museums etc, and by sightseeing I mean nature and parks and monuments, not Giant Bananas (or whatever)

I-Drive is THE tourist destination in Orlando -- every restaurant known to man, sports bars, the world's largest playplace in a McDonald's, that kind of thing. Many t-shirt stores, lots of neon.

Orlando isn't exactly a cultural mecca...there's a museum that brings in traveling exhibits. I can't remember the name of it -- it's very near downtown.
