After cricketk's adorable display of obsession I thought I'd confess that I was a little bit overexcited at the return of Atlantis after one whole month of deprivation.

And I also, for the first time ever, *got* why some people like to be spoiled. I was all a-tingle cos I knew that particular episode is one of the really good ones. I looked forward to the Revelation, and everyone's reaction, and also just basked in the cute John and Rodney bits.

I don't want it to become a habit though.


You know those cute canon bits that make their way into fic after fic til you just want to yell 'Yes, Rodney and John flirt over whether the time travel theory in Back to the Future could work, and how John is like, the Captain Kirk of the Pegasus Galaxy, for the love of god can you pick another scifi show like, oh, Farscape or something.'**

And I know Wilson's marriage is failing and Maybe His Wife is Going to Divorce Him. Do we have to go through it in detail again.. Er..

Um, I've only seen three episodes so I don't know anything about that, no I'm not reading House fic obsessively, why would you think that? *deletes histories* And I'm certainly not reading them straight after watching a new shiny Atlantis episode because that would be wrong.



Today, in the land of lj, is a good day. I have two new Atlantis stories to leap upon with cries of joy. Also Maya's epic Underwater Light fic - from my previous favourite fandom - is finally finished. She has just posted the conclusion we've been waiting for forever

And also I notice more House recs. *looks shifty*

I'm avoiding HOUSE spoilers, but I just want to say:

How good was the last episode, the one about the babies? I loved that one set of parents were same-sex and it was just a fact, not an issue! Also was charmed and impressed when thingy -hospital adminstrator woman(I haven't seen enough eps to remember character names) cut off the berky student's tie.

What I want to know: why does House watch daytime medical soaps? Is it just to make him uber-quirky?

Did you miss the part where my obsession is..not so much shifting as expanding?

I haven't seen this week's ep yet (my eyes did this automatic jerk away thing when I started reading your comment then I figured if I'm reading the fic I'm fair game :) )

And the reason I haven't seen it is because I went over to Trille's house last night because she was burning all the eps for me and promised I'd be able to play them on my mac and I CAN'T. *sob*

I can't comment on the soap watching yet. But the most unexpected people do seem to...

oh hey, I've been meaning to ask whether the episodes played, and whether the thing stopping them playing (if they weren't playing, that is) was your computer not being able to read the disc or your computer not being able to play the files. Let me know, because if it's the first one, I can burn things to cd, and if it's the 2nd one, well, I can fix that too.

It would just slip out in casual conversation - Rodney would be the one to say he'd do them both and Shep would go all quiet and stare off into space. Then Rodney would start babbling and the evening would totally fall apart.

But on the next mission, Shep will trade something stupid (like, I don't know, a naqadah generator) for a pair of leather pants. He'll show up late one night in Rodney's room practically generating a field of sex via leather pants. Rodney would be confused but entertained and make Shep confess why he has leather pants.

Then there would be lots of happy-sex.

Or, the leather pants could mysteriously turn up in Rodney's quarters and Rodney would assume that John put them there but John doesn't say anything and Rodney keeps looking at him sideways and John keeps looking innocent and then one day Rodney just...wears them and then of course John has to make some totally unconvincing excuse to whoever is there and drag Rodney somewhere private and ravish him.

And also - There'd have to be a bit in that where Rodney tries the pants out in the comfort and safety of his own room. And likes what he sees. A lot.

Oh - and I've been thinking about Miller and McKay on the way back to Atlantis after the satellite goes boom.

*Rodney all hunched up in the co-pilot seat and not talking for the first couple of hours
*Then food
*Then complaining about the pain in his back, but really it's all about Grodin and their impending death by wraith
*Miller totally getting this and wanting to comfort, but not being much with the talking
*Rodney mentioning that Miller doesn't really talk much and Miller just doing that half-amused/half-concerned smile thing
*Figuring out how to use the auto-pilot (there's got to be a function - it can automatically go through the 'gate - John just never uses it because he really likes flying
*Miller giving Rodney a medical backrub
*That turns into sweet comfort sex
*That turns into napping
*And then finishes with Caldwell asking when was "the last time you slept Dr McKay"


I get more and more tempted to try and write every day.

It's interesting how it's the rare pairings that make many people start writing - cos GODDAMMIT no-one else is going to!

Be prepared for a whole lot of people not to be interested though. I AM!! And a whole lot of people who will read anything with McKay in it. And, you know, the five other people in the world who saw what you saw :)
