BATMAN BEGINS!!!

My god. I don't think Christian Bale can make a bad film - shut up about Reign of Fire, okay - it was brilliant until the Americans showed up. Fucking Matthew McConaughey.

Bestests comic adaptation *EVA*

*deliberating not thinking about the X Men films*

Did anyone else squee audibly in the cinema at that Alfred/Lucius moment? Just me and Jody then?

Also, have finally regained my Gary Oldman love, so cruelly ripped from me in Fifth Element. Maybe he was on seriously mindaltering drugs medication during the filming of that.

There used to be this line, see, where if a character was married with children they were safe from my depraved imaginings. *is resigned* Batman/Gordon, anyone?

I could only spot two American actors (in main roles), did they get the Xmen casting agent for this film too?

Cillian Murphy is really just too pretty to be real. I keep trying to explain this to people and am stymied by my inability to pronounce his name. My Irish rellies would be ashamed of me, if I knew any of them.

Rutger Hauer. Because he will always be cool.

Also finally saw Troy today. Which made me think of Atlantis, naturally.

*flist blink*

Those outfits? Where the men are mostly naked but for their manly skirts that swirl around when they fight?

Sheppard and Ford would look dreamy in those.

No audible squee, just a quiet appreciation - though I did have issues with Alfred's accent.
Cillian Murphy is da prettiest.... Wants Crane/Wayne slashe.... *giggles*
Nah, not Bats and Gordon... at least not in this adaptation. Some of the comics make it more do-able. There's a period where Gordon is not married and Bats has to comfort him...

*Fears the McShep plague*

Crane/Wayne???

I suppose they could have met at Yale, when they were *normal*...but where's the fun in that?

How about Batman/Scarecrow?

I went to bed about 9.40pm anyway. Apparently strangedave and doctor-K came over for solstice - and I slept right through it.

On the up side, my knee is vastly improved this morning.

Good to hear, well done you on the physical exertion stuff, too! Are you free at all later tonight? Zebra's coming over to watch Hot Zone.

WHile watching Hot Zone with [livejournal.com profile] wobowikkles I referred to my "sarren-like" ability to know where I was on the "The Eye/The Defiant One/Hot Zone" tape by the merest snippet of show. Which means that yes, I have watched them a lot.

Sadly I can't make tonight. I've got to collect all the RTKD pads, keys, training plans etc to take over for the next couple of weeks (as well as go stand around at training looking like I'm not in pain at all. Oh no.)

And now I've just realised that my tape with those episodes on was stolen borrowed by Emma last week.

*sigh* Guess I'll be calling to see if anyone's home this arvo.

*smacks self in head repeatedly*

See you soon?

Well - I should be home by 9pm if you have no luck.

We could watch it on the swapped TV, which is huge and big and pretty in the living room at my place.

Though I'm sure you guys could just watch Mag 7

No no no!

That was a shy invitation to come visit me. I just know that it's really late and thus less attractive.

Hey, I was all prepared to brave the cold and come visit you late last night.

However Zebra has indictated that she will not be having a late night as she has to be home for early tree delivery the next morning.

Oh, and on Troy? Only thing going for it was ogling all the bare skin. And occasionally groaning in disbelief at the stilted dialogue.
