I only pray to God, that I can conceal from her, the horror I feel at what she has done...

I've adored Percy and Marguerite's love story since I first read the book in my early teens. I still have that copy, though it's held together with masking tape now. I'm all about the sheer intensity of their devotion to each other. That whole restrained passion/anguish they have going? AWESOME.

Look you can read it online!

I love the Anthony Andrews/Jane Seymour movie more than life itself - watched it for the first time in years last night, what do you know, can still quote the entire dialogue.

So, obviously now I've had to join a community and have icons and youtube links of scenes from the musical and fanvids.

Does anyone have any of the books or other movies they are willing to lend me? I realise the books are precious now and promise faithfully to be very careful of them.

The books!

The movies!

Fic Rec! My favourite Yuletide fic from last year was a a lovely Percy/Marguerite fic set at the end of the book. I have no interest in going looking for other fanfic, though. I can only imagine the madness that awaits me.

OMG NO - I didn't even know about this bloke writing badfic in the guise of published novels Oh, the horror.

The Pimpernel's nemesis - Chauvelin. Recognise the actor? He was 43 years old, 25 years ago.

The obligatory duel photo. My, those pants fit well.

Finally -the Awesome Anthony Andrews...

As Sebastian in Brideshead Revisited, with Jeremy Irons;as the Scarlet Pimpernel; and, yeah, I don't know the other, but not bad at all, for his age.

I have all the episodes of the Richard E Grant mini-series on VHS if you want to grab them off me next month :-) I also have the book of the making of the series too.

(Jamie Bamber is in it, and is made of cute.)

I love the Anthony Andrews version the best though!

Life is good!

I do occasionally get immersed in one fandom to the exclusion of all else for a while, but it has to have a constant supply of new fic/canon to sustain it. Like SGA at it's height.

Just revisiting your post now I've seen the film - will read the novel when I have some more time. I've had a look at it and need to get into the language.

I never thought of that. To me the language is familiar and comforting.
