More Yuletide recs

sarrenOkay, I've had my second pass at Yuletide and am officially done. Is it just me or are the fics of a really high standard this year? I've only included a few recs here, for ones I'll definitely want to reread, but there were also many, many others I loved, in a variety of fandoms.

Famous Five - Enid Blyton
I love this depiction of George's future. I identified very strongly with George when I was a kid. I could totally imagine myself binding my boobs and wearing boys'stuff for the freedom if I'd been born back then.
As Good as a Boy (George/Jo)
It's one thing to be a girl who always wants to be a boy, when you're eleven and going on splendid adventures. When you're starting to grow up, the adventures become a bit more complicated, but possibly even more exciting.

Equilibrium
I clicked on the Equilibrium link hoping for John/Jurgen and would never have expected this amazing Errol backstory. Wow.
And now to sleep (Errol Partridge/John Preston)
The world ends with a whimper not a bang. Errol Partridge merely puts down his injector one day.
Dark City
Wow, love the dark future and way the feel of the film has been captured.
John Murdoch, John Murdoch (John Murdoch/Daniel Schreber)
The murders have started again, John thinks it must be him and goes to Schreber for help.
Black Moth - Georgette Heyer
Ha, to my slashy teenage heart Tracy and Frank were always the most intriguing relationship.
Devil-may-care (Frank Fortescue/Tracy Belmanoir)
Tracy's been in four duels in the past three weeks. Frank gets in a duel to make a point about how unpleasant it is when one's friends get into duels. Tracy is not amused.
Sports Night
SN's one of those fandoms I'm pretty much done with, it was just big enough that I got my fill of fic at the time. I revisited it this Yuletide on an impulse and this fic was funny and madcap like the characters.
You Could Turn It On Like A Light (Casey McCall/Dan Rydell)
In which Dan and Casey are not fraught. Or so they say.
Het (probably)
Alien vs Predator
I love this depiction of a future for Lex carving a place for herself with the Hunters.
Shackleton Was Wrong (Lex/Scar)
Fix-it fic, of a sort. Scar is hardier than he looks, and Lex is drawn to the true 'last great journey left to man'
*facepalm* While I'm not sure I'll reread this, I just had to include it because this is awesome and I feel an urge to have a record oh OMFG LEX/SCAR IS A LEGIT FANDOM. There was another, longer, more romantic (!!) Lex/Scar fic as well, tbh the romantic bit didn't work for me, but it had great world building and plot. And I read a fic a year or two ago where Lex followed Scar on board ship to go be a hunter.
Also, apparently NO pairing is exempt from having a sappy romantic songvid made about them. It's on youtube and it's called Invisible and I'm not linking to it. Instead, have a link to the OTHER Lex/Scar songvid I found, HERE
