I had internet for about five minutes on Wednesday night. *sigh* Then my little Acer decided not to connect like it’s supposed to, and the internet settings icon like, totally froze. Luckily I had episodes of Castle to entertain me.

So I finally gave in. Yesterday I went and bought a new cord for the Toshiba – thinking that at least it was only $100 as opposed to the $227 the repair shop wanted to charge me. Except it didn’t fit. Clearly just taking the powercord into the shop and relying on the salesperson to give me the right one was just CRAZY. Dragonfly’s universal one does fit though, so back to the shop I go!

So, with no internet yet again last night, I watched Easy Virtue,** which had been recced to me. Now I’m FULL of fic ideas – I am totally going to volunteer to write it for Yuletide. Of course, I’ll be screwed challenged if I get it and the recipient asks for any of the minor characters. What I really want is…

Furber to follow Larita and Whittaker and ostensibly be their manservant but really have a more equal relationship (I can totally hear Whittaker saying dryly to Furber about how Larita treats him that “its that American egalitarianism”) and Larita and Furber take care of Whittaker and help him heal (maybe Furber was Whittaker’s batman in the war and that’s why he got the job despite his *cough* flaws…) It could even be a GEN fic, though I wouldn’t be averse to a threesome, or even any pairing variation.

*If Nathan Fillion is NOT a nice guy, DO NOT TELL ME. I like to know as little as possible about actors because it affects my enjoyment of their shows if I find out they’re horrible people.

**Holy crap!! Marion Whittaker was Jen in The IT Crowd!! I recognised her voice but otherwise she was TRANSFORMED.

I have nothing but lovely things about Nathan Fillion - he's apparently incredibly nice and friendly to everyone.

I most recently saw her in Jonathan Creek! I love her voice.

$227 for a power cord? That's completely insane! Well, I shouldn't jump to conclusions. Maybe earlier entries will explain, e.g. that you're talking about a Toshiba supercollider.

Well I ended up paying heaps for a "universal" one anyway (comes with 6-8 different plugs so at least I can keep it and use it on future laptops too. Oh and it has a car charger.

So I assume that's what they were going to sell me, rather than a specific one for the model.

You're a braver Yuletider than I am. I always restrict myself to offering major characters I like, I never offer "any".

Depends on the fandom and how much I'm feeling like I want to be challenged. If I'm specifically watching a show for the pairing, or if I don't like the supporting characters I only offer to write those two. But if it's a show where I enjoy all the characters, or I don't have a pairing I'm fixated on I'm more flexible.
