Next trip, I'm thinking of starting out in Seattle, wandering down to Portland (train or car depending on whether I'm alone), flying down to Denver (Worldcon, Grand Canyon), then on to Memphis. Finally train/car down to New Orleans.

I'd be happy to drive you from Seattle to Portland; I have fannish friends in Portland and it'd be a good chance for me to visit for a weekend or something.

Keep in mind that the Grand Canyon is in Arizona, about a 12-hour drive southwest of Denver. You might consider flying from Portland to Phoenix (or maybe Flagstaff) and driving from there.

*HINT HINT*

But pleased to see you are planning a trip anyway! :-D

Ooh! Seattle and Memphis and New Orleans.... I've never been to Memphis or New Orleans, and want to (especially NO). ANd I have been to Seattle, and its awesome, and I have many friends there and need to visit again some time.
I know I want to go to Worldcon, and that I want to be at Burning Man again two weeks later.

No idea about the two weeks in the middle yet, though - though spending some time making crazy Burning Man projects is possible ([livejournal.com profile] fogod42 has Denver friends and is likely to share enthusiasm about mad projects).

I swear, that Canyon keeps moving around. *g*

Looks like I might not get to Denver at all then *frowns" I was only planning on going to Worldcon for a couple of days, probably not worth the travel time/fare then. *sigh*

Wait, I wasn't fast enough! You can stay here, too! And we'll drive you places. And, we have goats and sheep and chooks (and other poultry) and homemade cheese and yogurt!

You'll just have to stay in Seattle longer :-)

No, but we do bury entrails (of chooks/turkeys/ducks and lambs).

My cousin runs a mostly-organic over-sized garden here, as her yard's not big enough.

Oh, and of course there will be card-playing! And I might even drag you to a game-playing group which does lots of board games and some card games, too, if you're interested.

a 12-hour drive southwest of Denver.

Is that...? Yes. I can definitely sense a road-trip coming on.

Board games like Trivial Pursuit, or board games that will last for years and suck my will to live?
