Overall I enjoyed this, although I am not really a fan of stories that aren't really supposed to be AU but the author has just changed a bit of canon cos it wasn't convenient or they didn't like it. BECAUSE I'M JUDGEMENTAL LIKE THAT. Also the author has decided that italising for emphasis just isn't enough and has gone that extra mile *I have no words* And yet here is link because I like the idea and it is well written. She's an excellent writer, so I really wish I could share your enthusiasm :(

I never read past the first one because of the ludicrous scene where McCoy give Jim a blowjob to orgasm while Jim's driving the motorbike at high speed. Also I spent way too much time being confused about where the bike that he was so attached to came from.

Based on your rec though I've read several more parts and I have to say I don't recognise these characters as the same ones from the end of the movie (maybe they were that angry and immature *before* joining Starfleet and saving the world).

Also, I don't like the attitude that because Kirk has sex he's a "man-whore" or his negative references to not wanting to be like "some emotional woman" or "silly teenage girls". I get the impression this Kirk doesn't really like or respect women.

By part 5 I found myself just counting the swear words, which kind of makes me feel all prudish and judgemental, but REALLY?


“Nothing to live for? Damn it, Jim. Do you even listen to the shit that comes out of your mouth?” Bones makes a disgusted noise, and Jim doesn’t even have to see his face to know that there’s a disapproving ‘you’re an asshole’ expression on his face. “There’s a hell of a lot more to life than just captaining a spaceship.”

“If your hands were crushed and you were never able to heal anyone else, you’d be totally fine with that because you’d still be alive?” he asks pointedly. “Or would you hate every single fucking minute of every day that kept you from doing the one thing that you’re passionate about?”

“It’s not that simple, you asshole. I’d hate not being able to do what I’m good at, yeah, but I’d do something else with it that didn’t need my hands, like teach or some shit. Fuck, I have lost everything, and I found a new way to live my goddamn life.” Bones sighs. “I’m passionate about more than just my career, like watching my daughter grow up, and I’d choose that every fucking time over death if I ever had the choice. There have to be more things in your life that you’d want to live for besides being captain, Jim. If there’s not, that’s fucking pathetic, and, coming from me, you know that’s bad.”
