I don't know why, but I want a "Some are worse than others" choice. It doesn't change much though because none of them should go in landfill. Non-rechargeable ones are relatively bad partly because of the sheer number of them per amount of power. Ni-Cad ones are relatively bad because of the cadmium. NiMH ones, I get the general impression, aren't quite so bad, so I'm planning to not feel to guilty about using them.
