mr_booboo and her MINIONS blame me for this -they claim that I KILL SHOWS. I would like to point out in my defence that I watched Buffy right from the start and that did fine. I went through a sudden obsessive Smallville phase last year where I watched five seasons in a tiny tiny amount of time and as far as I know, that's still going fine. Don't tell me if it isn't.
You know how the news of the cancellation of Moonlight was gently broken to me by my friends?angriest sent a link to my work email, so it was the first thing I saw when I got to work that day. *cries* And he claims I'm mean to HIM.
Mick and Beth
Mick has been watching over Beth since he saved her when she was a small child. Any scenes of a small blonde girl in vids are flashbacks of her. Mick and Beth fall in love but have much angst about the whole vampire/human thing. Mick also has issues with feeding from humans, and gets most of his blood from the blood bank. Except sometimes he bites the bad guys. And sometimes his best friend Josef tempts him with beautiful women in a way that's all about them feeding together in a highly homoerotic way.
I am all about the Mick/Beth relationship. Beth is awesome. The actor who plays her is awesome.
I love this scene SO much. I love how brave Beth is and how vulnerable Mick is to her, and the way he just curls into her.

They are so damn adorable together. Of course Beth makes the first move. I love Mick's smile as she runs off.

Eyelab promo - whatever that is I don't know whether to be amused or terrified by this promo - neither does Alex O'Loughlin by the vaguely embarrassed way he introduces it. No, this isn't designed to appeal to women who read trashy romances AT ALL. Oh, all right, I LIKE IT OKAY?

Mick vid - If You Want Blood (You Got It) Just Mick vamping out a lot. Because I find it disturbingly hot.
Josef
Josef is COOL. He's Mick's best friend. We know this because Mick tells us in the first episode. He's 400 years old and doesn't have the same hang ups about feeding from humans or killing people as Mick does. Interestingly, Mick does not have issues with other vampires or the vampire culture, he is completely unfazed when he says to Beth 'oh, Josef probably kills people every day' Alex O'Loughlin said in an interview that Josef and Mick are bordering on co-dependent, that they need each other, without each other they are lost souls who are even more lost. Josef and Mick have no personal boundaries around each other. It's very intense. Especially from Josef's side.
Mick feeding from Josef's girlfriend while Josef holds her and stares intently at Mick. Their hands brush a lot. If you are obsessive like me and freeze frame a lot you will notice that Mick's little finger is on top of Josef's thumb when he stops feeding too. WHAT? It's very homoerotic!! I like to think the actors did that deliberately.
Josef turns Mick...back This is intense! They are emotional and teary and look how Mick totally trusts Josef and how gently Josef cradles Mick!

I am very sad that Moonlight has been cancelled. At least episode 16 was a great episode to go out on. A plot that gave us some serious kick ass vampire shit going down, some damn fine Josef/Mick action, Josef accidentally gets a cool girlfriend, Mick and Beth finally decide to be together and Claudia Black shows up in PVC.
