Hee! Your tag made me laugh :)

Also, wow. I can remember when I was in primary school asking Dad about currency, why we used the US dollar as th benchmark, and what happens if the Australian dollar is stronger. Dad's response was something along the lines of: "The end times!" *watches the sky fall*

I ran off to check too (cause Australian parity would be so incredible -!) but:

1.00 AUD = 0.942819 USD

Australia Dollars
1 AUD = 0.942819 USD

United States Dollars
1 USD = 1.06065 AUD

I'm thinking I'm a little biased cause of what currency I'm earning in at the moment but as much as I want Australia to achieve parity (and beyond) witht eh US dollar, I sort of hope that it sinks to the pound cause my savings are dropping like a stone at the moment (I've lost $5k between December and January not from spending but because the British pound sank to the Australian dollar).

It was above 95c back on 23 April (http://business.smh.com.au/aussie-slips-from-24year-high/20080424-2898.html) and then went above 95c again two days ago. (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2008/05/07/2237478.htm) It's now almost a cent down on that.
