sarrenPlots where the main characters are on trial always make me hideously uncomfortable, and this episode of Dead Zone has the added bonus of being set in a small town where the people are all set on burning Johnny at the stake.

Not really keen on anything courtroom related. A few eps back, Johnny got summoned for jury duty, and of course it was
ooh Callum Keith Rennie just showed up. OH no, I think he's gonna be a bad guy.
an open and shut case and Johnny's the only one who thinks that the guy is innocent, and spends the ep convincing everyone else so I'm like 'well obviously the twist is going to be the guy's going to get off and then Johnny's going see that he's actually guilty.
Zebra - WOW, how do you know these things?
Me - Cos that's what happens in every show ever.
Zebra - Really?
Me - I really, really hope that Dead Zone doesn't go down that path. I think this show is better than this.
*Guy is found innocent. Someone asks Johnny if he wants to go over and touch the man, to find out what he does with his 'second chance'*
Me - NO JOHNNY DON'T DO IT. END THE SHOW! END THE SHOW RIGHT NOW!
Zebra - You're a little overinvested, aren't you?
OMG Callum Keith Rennie is scarily convincing as a guy who beats up on women. I feel unclean. I wantmy Kowalski back. I want to go watch Due South songvids now to purge the badness, but I'm afraid I'll somehow taint the Kowalski love. *is torn*
Also, I like the reporter chick, I hope Johnny gets a lot more sexin' from her, and everybody else who was there, except his mother and Reverend Purdy.
Reverend Purdy is played by the guy who was Charles Winchester in MASH. Winchester was my favourite character. I loved the growth his character went through. Once I stumbled across ::cough:: a MASH slash archive and really, there were some disturbing fics there. The one haven't been able to forget, and not through lack of trying, had Father Mulcahey pining after Hawkeye, who seduces him and then invites BJ to join the party. SO VERY WRONG.
Er, there were Winchester/Klinger fics there, was my point. And sure, I get where they got that, but I don't want to go there myself.
*here's where Sarren offers up yet another fantasy epic from when she was a naive teenager. Feel free NOT to follow along*
SO, my fantasy was that Hawkeye finds out that Winchester is gay (well, duh, repressed much?) and finds it mildly amusing and maybe occasionally sly alludes to it, so that Winchester knows he knows and gets all strung out about it, but Hawkeye doesn't really care and doesn't realise that he's pushing too hard and maybe one day they are like, in a supply tent coincidently at the same time and Hawkeye makes some comment about being in the closet and Winchester pushes him against something and kisses the life out of him and Hawkeye is all surprised and overwhelmed and DOMINATED yadda yadda I was seventeen and okay, yes I still like that scenario, who am I kidding? Anyway, they dance around each other for a while and eventually Hawkeye can't leave it alone and starts pushing Winchester again. Eventually, obviously, they get together and have lots of furtive, hurried sex and Hawkeye has his horizons BROADENED. And then because I am a sap, in the last ep when Peace is declared or whatever and everyone is euphoric, they KISS IN FRONT OF EVERYONE.
Also, I had my hair cut today.
