Day 2

Up at 6:15am to pack to go stay in the hotel for the weekend and also still get to the hotel by 8am to help emma_in_oz set up the Artshow. In fact, there were oodles of efficient types hanging up stuff so I sat at the desk and cut up bits of velcro and occasionally took money off people. And we were all finished by 10am and I wandered off to the double Dr Who panel.

The Birth of Dr Who Season One
I was a bit late but they were all still trying to get the audiovisual equipment to work and then there were no speakers to be found but then I think one of the audience members went and got their own speakers from their room. Which, hotel full of geeks, I'm just surprised we didn't end up with like, twenty sets. And then all our local Dr Who experts and Rob Shearman bounced about endearingly for an hour and a half until someone made them stop.

Then it was lunchtime and I went to mind the artshow for an hour. Bunny came and helped - her current favourite game is being a shopkeeper so this was great fun for her.


Science fiction and the Future of American TV
I don't remember much about this one, but one of the panellists was ddpm, my co-panellist on my Monday panel and I figured we should at least have some idea about what we were going to talk about so afterwards I cornered him and introduced myself and then we went off to the bar to have brief chat about our panel, during which time we bonded over our mutual love of The Champions and other ITV shows while dragonfly8and Jody and Bunny came and sat nearby and had milkshakes and Bunny randomly climbed all over me and then it was suddenly two hours later and ddpm had to go do another panel, which was

Fan Ownership (with Rob Shearman)
Mostly I remember Rob saying you can't pander to fans, but there was context and it made sense, because it RUINS SHOWS. Like The X-Files, apparently, I don't know, I'd stopped watching XF by the last season. *ponders*

Then we had a bland dinner in the hotel cafe and then Dragonfly and Jody went off to the auction and Bunny and I watched The Simpsons in our room and I wrote some Persuaders fic.
