I am currently watching the pilot of Weeds, as I have been assured by several people that it is totally awesome.

First time I've ever been disappointed to find out that a character is gay.

I'm just saying, when Dope Dealing Mom threw Dope Dealing Youth against the car it was very... intriguing. Also, Josh has gorgeous green eyes.

And that's as far as I've got.

bigjobbies loves the show, finds it very funny. I find it heartbreakingly sad.

Yeah, there's funny bits, but I'm leaning towards the sad too. Also, have seen 3 episodes and am not feeling any great urge to watch any more. Does it get more engrossing?

I stopped after about three episodes 'cos it upset me so much. He watched it all and gave a big cheer when it was renewed for a second season.

Awww, Weeds! I too had both the sad and funny reactions. It made me cry and laugh at the same time on one or two ocassions. It's beautiful.

Also, Mary-Louise Parker is a freaking goddess and will have chemistry with anyone and anything even gay dope-dealing youths, she just has to do that disbelieving blinking thing and they fall in love with her.

Have either of you seen Angels in America? If you haven't and you like her in Weeds and you don't mind going through a bit of sadness to get to (what I'd call) a reasonably happy ending, you might like it.

I'm watching her on the West Wing when I remember to catch it on TV. She is SO amazing.

So Angels in America is on the list of things you're going to show me I should see?

Well, I would show it to you if I had it, I don't...but I *will* get it and then you are personally invited to come and share in it, bask in its glory. (I love it so much, I'm a sucker for broken men and brave women) I fell in love with Mary-Louise Parker and Justin Kirk in this, and Patrick Wilson was rather lovely too.

Mind you, I should say, AiA is not to everyone's taste, I've come across people who really hate it, so I guess it tends to have an "either love it or hate it" effect.

Are you free to come over on Deadwood Wednesdays? You're welcome to come any week, we usually do have a little look at other stuff as well as Deadwood.

Yeah, trust me I would have crashed your little Deadwood party by now if I'd have seen more than two episodes. Thanks anyway. It's one of the shows I've just yet to be lent the dvds get to.
