This story is so famous within it's fandom that I assume anyone who's willing to read Orlijah must have done so already, but there might be someone as clueless as me out there.

I do read and enjoy the occasional RPS, when written or recced by friends, [livejournal.com profile] cupidsbow. for example, writes like a dream, but it's not really one of my kinks.

So why was I up in the early hours of the morning til some insane hour (cursing [livejournal.com profile] cupidsbow because somehow it was all her fault) reading Football by [livejournal.com profile] deleerium?

It's seriously AU for a start, the resemblances to the actual actors, I think, must be superficial and well within [livejournal.com profile] cupidsbow's Public Persona ideal, and therefore within my comfort zone.

And then there's the confused!boysex which is hot, and the adorable confused fumbling jocks discovering their sexuality.

I read another fic by the same author months ago on [livejournal.com profile] special_trille's rec, about a college professor and a skaterboy and enjoyed the story so much I made an icon (though I can't rec it unequivocally as it's MarySue ending really let it down) and Football has a few moments like that.

And when did the definition of MarySue expand to include unlikely and/or unnecessary over the top achievements and abilities ascribed to the characters?
