TWO DAYS OFF IN A ROW!!!!

Lots of wangling and working an extra shift over the weekend as a favour to my assistant...

and I do have to go in just for 1/2 hour this arvo - but it counts!!!

Meanwhile, one of my poker buddies has got hold of eps 1-8 of 3rd season Enterprise on vcd for me so I'll be taking a slight detour to East Cannington today to pick those babies up.

And on a completely different subject, this Implanon bizzo's been a big disappointment for me, considering the amount of hassle involved. It completed failed in the stopping my period department (I bet you all wanted to know that!) and it's not like I'm even getting sex!

though according to special_trille I could be, if only I'd succumb to her charms


Having had it talked up to me back in the early days by a doctor at a party off I trotted to my local doctor's surgery, asked for a doctor trained to insert it, got somebody completely different who looked confused and his "yes of course I can do this" completely failed to reassure me, nevertheless went ahead and had this great metal thing smooshed into my poor vulnerable arm...

Only later did I hear the horror stories of implants gone wrong...

Why am I thinking of this now? Because my 3 years are nearly up and soon I'll have to go and have the thing dug out.

Gee, I think I'll try the 3 monthly injection option next.

What needle? I didn't see a needle. That needle does not exist in my life. It is a vicious and completely unvalidated rumour made up by people to scare me.

Or...I refused to look at the needle and am still pretending that my implant was magical.
