Dragonfly has a friend over, and they are watching Dr Who. Bunny is trying to play with me, as any time she goes in the lounge room I hear Dragonfly say 'Go and see what Sarren is doing.' (that post about zines took about 45 minutes to make)

I let Bunny have the glitter gel. Apparently, I will be going to work with red glitter on my face. Bunny, however, has it EVERYWHERE. *smirks*

They're watching 'The Girl In the Fireplace'. I didn't love that as much as everyone else seemed to. I was annoyed at myself more than anything. Here they write this fabulous, beautiful, powerful woman that the Doctor instantly falls for, and I'm like OMG what a Mary Sue! And then I'm like, why am I thinking like that? I WANT strong female characters on TV! And then the Doctor mindmelded with her!!! WTF. I'm not on board with totally reinventing canon like that after 30 years. (I have more to say about this) And then. THEN. This human woman is able to reach inside the brain of this 900 year old alien because she is just. that. incredible. *scowls*

I really liked 'School Reunion'. I LOVED that they brought back Sarah Jane Smith. I loved her interactions with Rose, the mutual jealousy and the eventual bonding. The Doctor going 'What?' 'What?' 'Stop it!' is just the funniest thing ever. I was a bit cranky at the time though. Yes, okay, I may have shouted at the computer a bit. Quite a bit. But Dragonfly agreed with me! My issues were with the way they portrayed Sarah Jane as so hung up on the Doctor that for twenty five years she has not moved on with her life. She has just waited around for him to come back for her and is all bitter and twisted that he abandoned her. And the implication that they were like Rose and the Doctor, 'romantically involved' just messes with all my childhood memories of the show. The Doctor that I grew up travelled around with friends, dammit. *sulks* So, Sarah Jane's what, in her late 40's now? Now, I'm the last one to claim that people can only lead fulfilled lives by getting married and having children, but she's put her life on hold for 25 years!

I loved the Finale. Some of the BEST DR WHO MOMENTS EVER. I cried and cried. I am however. clinging to the possibility that Rose COULD return. One day. If not, I will scour the internet in search of that perfect fic that will make it all better. Seriously, though, can you imagine trying to explain the plot to someone in the 1970's? Yeah, that's Rose, the companion. That's her Mum, and her Dad, only she's not his daughter, he's from a parallel universe. That's Mickey, Rose's ex, she dumped him for the Doctor, he's living in the other dimension now. Oh and that's Jake, I think he's there to look pretty and possibly join a boyband.

Also, the bit where the Doctor fades out - COP OUT!!! (Dragonfly's words btw)
The Doctor clinging on desperately, screaming, as Rose was being sucked away...I liked that. Probably more than I should.
Can someone explain how Pete was able to pinpoint exactly where she was? Also, didn't he only have one disc?

My favourite Dr Who ep is still 'The Empty Child'. It was DAMN SCARY. But still with the hilarity. 'My leg grew back!' Also, it introduced Captain Jack.
