Randomly - Hogan's Heroes
I grew up watching Hogan's Heroes. In my teens I had this elaborately constructed fantasy epic in my head where Hogan and his men get called out to line up in the snow to 'meet' Klink's new 2iC, a war hero who's invalided out and recovering from wounds - who turns out to be Hogan's old lover - they lived together in Paris in the '30's. The lover had gone back to Germany to visit family and got called up and Hogan Never Saw Him Again.
I was a slasher before I knew what slash was.
Also, Hogan's war hero lover? Yeah, that was me. *blushes*
Then I grew up and wrote a Hogan/Klink fic that never saw the light of day.
However, if anyone is interested, here is a GOOD Hogan/Klink fic.

Robert Clary, who played LeBeau, was actually a survivor of the Holocaust.
Werner Klemperer, Howard Caine, Leon Askin, and John Banner, who play the chief Germans Klink, Hochstetter, Burkhalter and Schultz, were in fact all Jewish.
Werner Klemperer only agreed to play Col. Klink once he was assured (by the show's creator) that Klink would never succeed in his schemes.
Even though Klink acts like a coward, his military decorations indicate he is a combat hero from both WWI and WW II.
The leather jacket that Bob Crane wore in this series was originally worn by Frank Sinatra in Von Ryan's Express. It was later worn by Greg Kinnear in Auto Focus.
Although the show was a hit in syndication in Germany, certain liberties had to be taken. It's illegal to say "Heil Hitler" in Germany today (and is considered bad taste), so when the German soldiers gave the party salute, the characters said "How high is your corn?" The absurdity of it all was especially funny to German viewers.

Sorry to disillusion you, but hello? Kirk/Spock was the first really big pairing. It's canon that Spock didn't marry til after Kirk's death - how was he dealing with Pon Farr?

Max's nemesis was Siegfried. But would you match the two of them up, or Siegfried with Shtarker?

A brush with HH's fame...
Somewhere around here I have a program with his autograph on it. He was, as I recall, quite nice.
