3. run of 7
4. 2 sets of 4

Rules

Two packs of cards are used. Each player is dealt 10 cards. You make your hand and put it on the table, then get rid of the excess cards on to other people's hands or your own as you continue to pick up and discard.

Twos and jokers are wild.

You can only move on to the next round if you were able to complete and lay down your sets before someone 'went out'.

Runs do not have to be of the same suit.

The game ends when somebody completes 2 sets of 5, and the WINNER is the person who has the LEAST points.

3-9 = 5 pts
10-K = 10 pts
Ace = 15 pts
Wild = 20 pts

So you don't want to be caught with high scoring cards in your hand basically.

Also, just for fun, when dealing pick from the pack the amount of cards you judge you will need to deal, including the face up card and if you get it right you get to take 50 points off your score.

Did you come???

I only came in on sunday evening to babysit so that the parents could go set up/enjoy/take down the award ceremony.

I worked most of the weekend.

Yep, I was there, but wasn't organised enough to mention it ahead of time :(.

I assumed you hadn't been there based on your posts about work, but saw psycho_tabby at pancakes and found out you had been. I was bummed. Also bummed that you, dragonfly8 and bunny didn't come to pancakes--was fun chatting (and watching bunny play hide-under-the-tables ;-)) last year.

DAMN IT I forgot all about Pancakes!! I would have come! NOBODY REMINDED ME ABOUT PANCAKES.

I only came to the con to babysit so parental types could be involved in the Awards ceremony. I had a beer, hugged people i knew. got myself a tshirt I'd paid for the year before but was completely the wrong size so Dragonfly scored it..and watched an episode of Life On Mars cos Psycho Tabby dragged me into the vid room.

See, if anyone had arranged for CARDS, things would have been different.

Or if you know, they'd of let organise a Quidditch match..

Reminders to self:

1) Next year, remember to tell people I'm going to be at Swancon BEFORE Swancon;
2) Remember to mention CARDS so Sarren will be more tempted to appear someplace I am; and
3) Remember to remind Sarren about Pancakes.

It's a good idea, but I've already booked my tickets, and by skipping LA (which I thought I didn't really have a good reason to go to - I *thought*) my miles go under a price range for the round the world ticket.

If you spend your time at a con hiding in the video room you won't bump into nearly as many people as if you were to go to the room parties ... or sit in the lobby playing cards.

I've only been to the last three cons (not including this one, or the first time I came which was just on a day pass) I've been to pancakes twice.


I only came to babysit while the Awards ceremony was on then Dee dragged me off to watch an ep of Life On Mars and then I remembered I wasn't actually at the con and went home.
