Yes, it's dated. Yes, it's corny. But it's also a rocking show where two guys and a girl FIGHT CRIME and HAVE SUPER HUMAN POWERS** and it's QUIRKY and they are all very cute together. Whenever one of them goes off and gets into trouble you get the other two bursting into their boss's office going 'OMG, Richard's in trouble!!' and their boss going, 'He's on holiday, and you are crazy people'. Yes, I OT3 them!

Some more coherent info on the show.!

Here's where I obsessively uploaded a promo for the pilot episode.

**Their powers are actually limited to what the body is capable of achieving. I read somewhere that the creators didn't have them do anything that someone, somewhere in the world hadn't already done before. I'm a little sceptical about the telepathy thing myself, but it's only between the three of them - and there have been all those studies of twins...

I enjoyed the eps you showed me, so thank you for pimping it! There's something very comforting about retro television.

I like the way you tactfully say 'showed me' instead of 'forced me to watch'

*g*

This looks great! I couldn't watch the trailer as I don't seem to be able to make realplayer work, but I love the premise. (I'm very fond of telepathy notions).

It shows up occasionally on Foxtel, if you have that...otherwise, you could wait til Amazon UK have it on sale again. I love Amazon UK.

Geez, talk about dredging my childhood!

I LOVED The Champions as a kid!

But even better was The Protectors (with Robert Vaughn) which was the same idea (but done much much better) and minus the superpowers. Wonder it it's available on DVD ...

Gosh the internet's wonderful!

Too expensive, though. Especially sight unseen.

Oh cool! Thanks!

(Ooops, I seem to have bought Box #1!! Wooo-hoo!)

You can come over and watch when it arrives if you like.

(Now, I just need to get the complete DVD of The Man From U.N.C.L.E and my cup would runneth over ...)

In hopes of finding some Persuaders material on the internet I haven't seen yet, I've been hunting through your old entries trying to find when you were interested in it before. The title of this post got me all excited, but no cigar!

Mad woman.

If I had referenced Persuaders before it'd be under a tag - ooh, unless it was in the pre-tagging days, you could hunt through every old post I did! I wouldn't recommend it though, i doubt very much if I've mentioned it before.

No, we discussed this and you said it would definitely have been pre-tagging. I thought I had some vague memories of you mentioning Persuaders in the past, but it might have been in person.

What I'm failing to understand is how you could've been watching Champions and Persuaders at about the same time and been so much more interested in Champions. Or maybe I just need to watch more Champions.

I owe all my recent fandoms to you, you know. Long may this continue.

Didn't I say I watched The Champions, and then moved ON to The Persuaders?

Yay for pimping you fandoms! I really get good value out of you (when it works)

But you posted pictures and links for Champions! And only mentioned Persuaders once!

However, that's been rectified now.

You mean lots and lots to me, you know. (Rereading three years of a person's LJ will put you in this mood.)

Damn, should have got you tagging everything as you went.

*hugs you* Me too. You are an awesome friend, and not just because you have good taste in fandoms.
